Spider-Man 4 Is Scrapped

Spider-Man 4 is no more.
Sony Pictures announced Tuesday that it was "re-booting" the franchise after director Sam Raimi bowed out over concerns he wouldn't be able to maintain the action flick's creative integrity and keep its summer 2011 release date.
This means stars Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are also out of a job.

Said Maguire in a statement, "I am so proud of what we accomplished with the Spider-Man franchise over the last decade. Beyond the films themselves I have formed some deep and lasting friendships. I am excited to see the next chapter unfold in this incredible story."
The studio is instead focusing on a new Spider-Man series with a new director and cast. The new movies, to be released summer 2012, will focus on the comic book character's teenage years.

i wont watch some stupid one based on him in highschool without tobey! he got his powers at the end of highschool so how would that make sense. its so stupid. it wont do well without him. i want tobey in it i absolutely love love LOVE him! he is an amazing actor and he is the one and only spidey, forever. the series is now dead without him. BRING HIM BACK OR NOONE WILL WATCH IT!
I'm sorry to the Spider-man fans out there, but this was long overdue! There are waaaaaay too many movies in the series; can't they see what happened to Harry Potter? They start off really well, but you can only prolonge something for so much time until the idea is dead and boring.

I think going back to the teenage years of spider-man would be a VERY BAD IDEA!!!! The loyal fans around the world don't want to see him as a teenager but to see him as the spider man that has to face new villians like, Carinage, Venom, Lizard and misterio. The other comment was right, "if its not broke, don't fix it"!!!! I also agree, the fans around the world need to unite and make a stand against this movie, Hollywood needs to listen to the common people who love the marvel legacy!!! it the fans that make the money for the stars, if it wasn't for us they would be nothing. I hope they come to their senses and keep Sam Rami, Tobey and Kirsten made great "peter park" and "mary jane". So, all the fans out there, take a stand and say NO, to the teen years of spiderman!!!
AAwwww, I wanted to see one last one with Tobey, he was great, and perfect to play Peter Parker. NO one can do it or fit the part as well as Tobey. Really, they can't. I feel for the actor they get to try to fill those shoes! Thanks for all the memories as Peter, Tobey!

That stinks! Toby and Kirsten have been great! done great jobs and created a wonderful serial. As they say if it ain't broke don't fix it. But here we go again Hollywood, never leave a good thing alone. As for me, if Toby and Kirsten are gone so am I .. I won't be seeing the next release of a 'teenage spiderman?' without toby and Kirsten forget it. Next...
