Cat Deeley

Catherine “Cat” Deeley is a television presenter, actress and former model best known for hosting So You Think You Can Dance in the U.S. and SMTV Live, CD:UK and This Morning in the U.K. Deeley spent her early years in West Bromwich, England, and was raised in the Birmingham area. She attended Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School and reached the finals of the BBC modeling competition The Clothes Show at age 14 before signing with Storm Model Management and launching her modeling career under the nickname Cat.

After leaving modeling in the late 1990s, Deeley transitioned to television, cohosting SM:TV Live and CD:UK, earning a Children’s BAFTA Award in 2001. She later hosted Fame Academy and Stars in Their Eyes before moving to the U.S. to front So You Think You Can Dance in 2006. Her work on the competition series earned her multiple Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program. In 2024, she returned to British daytime television as a cohost of This Morning.

In addition to her television career, Deeley has served as a UNICEF UK ambassador since 2009 and has appeared in acting roles including Deadbeat and Life’s Too Short.

Deeley married marketing executive Mark Whelan in 2001, and they divorced in 2006. She married Patrick Kielty in 2012; the two share sons Milo and James. The pair announced their separation in 2025. She later sparked dating rumors with film industry executive Charlie Coleman.
