“She wants to have the chance to thank her husband and everyone who has supported them,” a source told The Times. “Harry thinks it’s a great idea.”

As previously reported, Markle and Harry, 33, are set to walk down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19. Sources have told Us Weekly that couple are making their own rules for their big day.

“With the wedding, they both want to do things their way,” a source close to the couple told Us on January 17. “While they will always be mindful of traditions, the day is ultimately about them and what they want to do.”

One example of the bride-to-be changing things up is her bridal party. Markle is set to have a maid of honor — not a chief bridesmaid. “The day of the wedding itself will certainly hold a few unconventional surprises. Don’t expect a royal wedding by numbers …  While it is very much a British wedding, expect a few American touches too. She’s not picked a chief bridesmaid, she’s chosen a maid of honor,” a source told Us. Another example is the future royal wants her mother, Doria Ragland, to walk her down the aisle, instead of her father, Thomas Markle

“I’ve heard that Meghan wants her mother to walk her down the aisle, which would be a sweet moment,” an insider explained.
