Whether it’s couples who are in it for the long haul, such as John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, or for a brief moment in time — we’re looking at you, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson — many stars have debuted their relationships on the red carpet of awards shows. Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas, for example, made a splash at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards when they debuted matching rings one year after they were first linked in May 2020. Us Weekly confirmed one day after the awards show that the This Is Us star and the soap opera actress had secretly tied the knot. The ceremony was “super intimate” and took place “very, very recently,” a source exclusively told Us in May 2021. Hartley’s teenage daughter, Isabella, was there to witness the romantic moment, per the insider. The Smallville alum’s surprise nuptials marked his third marriage. Hartley was previously married to his Passions costar Lindsay Korman for eight years before splitting in May 2012. He tied the knot for a second time with Chrishell Stause in October 2017. The A Bad Moms Christmas actor filed for divorce from the Selling Sunset star in November 2019. The Bachelor alum first sparked romance speculation with the surgical technician in 2019, but they didn’t officially start dating until July 2020. One month after sparking romance rumors, the duo packed on the PDA at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

"We met online and we connected right away," the rapper said during an interview with MTV's Nessa Diab on the black carpet. "You know, I'm from the furthest north it gets and she's from the furthest south it gets. I'm into MILFs and she's kind of the queen of MILFs, so I figured it was just the perfect match."

Less than a year later, in March 2022, Us Weekly confirmed their engagement after the Velvet Buzzsaw actress was photographed with a diamond ring on her finger at the BAFTAs.

The Tick, Tick … Boom! star made his romance with the model official by bringing Miller as his date to the 2022 SAG Awards in February. Garfield was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role but lost to Will Smith, who took home the trophy for his performance in King Richard.

The twosome sparked relationship speculation in November 2021 when they were spotted together in New York City. Weeks prior to the SAG Awards, Garfield seemingly confirmed their romance after he was seen holding hands with Miller following a tennis date in Malibu, California. The awards show marked their first event as a couple.

One month before Barker popped the question, he and Kardashian made their red carpet debut at the MTV VMAs in September 2021. During the outing, they packed on the PDA for the cameras, kissing and even stopping to touch their tongues together. Throughout the night, the pair hung out with Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, even posing for some risqué photos together in the bathroom. "I think [MGK's] drummer is super hot,” the Poosh founder joked while introducing the rapper's performance with Barker during the show.

The This Is Us star and Pernas made their red carpet debut as a couple at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in May 2021. The couple wore matching rings on their left ring fingers, fueling speculation that they were married.

The following day, Us Weekly confirmed that the twosome recently tied the knot in a secret ceremony after one year of dating.

The pair, who first sparked romance rumors in 2019, became red carpet official when they made their debut at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted in May 2021.

"This was her first time so she didn’t know to look at the camera," the reality star captioned a photo of their appearance via Instagram at the time.
