Onscreen to offscreen chemistry! Garner and Vartan played love interests Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn, respectively, on Alias from 2001 to 2006. The Peppermint actress’ rep confirmed to Us Weekly in August 2003 that the costars’ relationship turned romantic in real life. Though they split in 2004, the Monster-in-Law actor admitted to USA Today in May 2005, “Jennifer and I were best friends first, during [the romance] and after.”
The Arrangement alum shot down the idea of reconciling with his ex in March 2018. “If it didn’t work once, there’s a reason it didn’t work,” he told E!’s Daily Pop at the time.
However, there are clearly no hard feelings between the two. The Golden Globe winner wished her former boyfriend a happy birthday in November 2018, writing via Instagram: “Can you believe this baby face is 50?!”
