Best known as Southern bad boy Jason Stackhouse on the hit HBO series True Blood, Kwanten originally had his heart set on being an athlete rather than an actor. When the Aussie-born star accidentally stumbled into his brother's audition, his brother's agent saw a star and Kwanten found himself signed and sent off to multiple auditions.
Kwanten got his big break with a five-year stint on the Australian 'soapie' Home and Away in 1997. Seven years later, the Aussie actor was cast on TV's Summerland opposite Lori Loughlin. He has also appeared on Law & Order: SVU, Tru Calling and in the 2006 film Flicka.
The actor has three projects in development as of 2010: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Griff the Invisible and Red Hill.
