Katie Holmes: Playing Jackie Kennedy Has Been "Fun"

Katie Holmes plays former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in The History Channel's upcoming miniseries The Kennedys -- and the best part of the gig is the clothes.

"It's been really fun! Her clothes were magnificent," Holmes told UsMagazine.com at Monday's Manhattan premiere of her flick The Extra Man. Afterwards, she attended the premiere afterparty at Vapiano in NYC.
"I feel so lucky. We have these wonderful seamstresses who are creating beautiful dresses that are obviously replicas of real things she wore. Armani made two dresses for me to wear."

And the 31-year-old wife to Tom Cruise and mom of Suri takes inspiration from the late icon for her own style, too. "She not only had great style, but she [was] an artist [and] a writer. She was an illustrator. She was an editor," Holmes told Us.

She added: "Her great style was both appropriate for every event that she went to and also classic, and also things that were wearable. I feel really lucky to be playing her."

One actress who has the beauty, poise, and class to pull off being Jackie, is Catherine Zeta Jones. I'm afraid Katie will look like a cartoon of JKO. Jaclyn Smith did a good job in another series. But Katie?!

Yet, while she's fun with her life making this, you bad mouthers are sitting on your chirs and beds, getting fatter by the day wasting your time talking smack about someone you know nothing about. I said it before and I will say it again..that It is just her in this movie ..not Greg Kinear ..no way he doesn't get to play the president that gets shot in the neck..and dead in 1963. No promoting from him alL Katie holmes ..she is like Jen Garner who became famous fast from a tv show called Dawson's creek playing a chubby teenager..So now she gets to play an Icon...

Maniston played her one and only character Rachel Green in every single thing she's ever "acted" in. This WAS VERY BRAVE for Katie Holmes to take on the Jackie O. Role. EVEN if she STINKS in this, I applaud her for trying. Wait until you SEE it before you JUDGE her in it!!! You morons!
Considering all the talented actresses who could have played the part, how did Katie get it? I liked her on Dawson's Creek, but she isn't really what you would call a great actress. Did Tom having something to do with producing, directoring or financing of this film? I think the reason she hasn't been in many movies since marrying Tom is because he is restrictive of where, how and with whom she spends her time. She seems a lot different since marrying him. He's just plain strange.

It is very sad that the woman who is portraying Jackie Kennedy has no f*^&%ng clue. "It's been really fun! Katie Holmes is brain dead! Now I understand why she is with Tom.
