Review | X-Men Origins: Wolverine

In this somber prequel to the X-Men saga, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) as a boy accidentally impales his dad, fights in various wars alongside his brother (Liev Schreiber), then turns against his sibling’s violent ways. While Jackman makes a graceful lead, Schreiber is too obnoxious (who cast him?) — and the flick declines as Wolverine becomes the subject of invasive government experiments. (20th Century Fox, $30)
