Everything the 'Summer House' Cast Has Said About Danielle Olivera and Ciara Miller's Fight, Wine-Toss Drama

Heating up! Summer House has a history of memorable fights — and Danielle Olivera and Ciara Miller’s season 6 feud has cemented itself as one of the most surprising moments to date. When the season premiered in January, fans were focused on the drama between Kyle Cooke and his then-fiancée (and now-wife), Amanda Batula, as they worked through their issues before walking down the aisle in September 2021. Paige DeSorbo’s love triangle with Winter House costars Craig Conover and Andrea Denver was also a hot topic to start the season. However, both story lines were later eclipsed when Austen Kroll came to visit the Hamptons for Lindsay Hubbard’s birthday, which was first seen on the March 7 episode. During his time on the East Coast, Austen, 34, made waves when he rekindled his romance with Ciara, 29, while also making out with BFF Lindsay, 35. “Let's blame it on the alcohol,” Andrea exclusively joked to Us Weekly on Wednesday, March 23, explaining that while he is good friends with the Southern Charm star, he felt like the situation wasn’t “handled in the best way.” The model added: “I just feel like everybody was coming to that situation with different hopes and different approach[es]. At the end of the day, they were all single and they were all trying to enjoy the moment. … I feel like it was really confusing, and I feel like they're all good now.” Things came to a head on the show when Ciara confronted Lindsay about the hookup and Danielle, 33, stepped in to defend her friend. In a midseason trailer, viewers got a sneak peek of their fight, which resulted in the nurse throwing her wine glass at Danielle during an Italian-themed dinner. I’m like, ‘What the f—k? Like, are you kidding me?’” the entrepreneur exclusively told Us in December 2021. “And so, the truth is the next day, I saw bruises — like I had bruises — but Craig, who was there that weekend, he was, like, ‘Oh my God, I pulled you away that hard.’ … No, the bruises were because of that wine glass that she threw at me and shattered on my chest bone. I’m not OK. I’m not OK about it.” Ciara, for her part, told Us in January that she ended up exploding at Danielle after previously getting fired up by Lindsay’s actions with Austen. (Ciara and Austen had briefly dated while filming Winter House in early 2021.) “It was a buildup of things. There were a lot of, you know, pent-up emotions that I kind of let go for a long time,” the Georgia native explained to Us. “And honestly, I came into that dinner, very hot. There was a lot of information being thrown around and I definitely reacted. Danielle Blacked Out

“In that moment, I knew that there was wine being thrown at me. I tried for dear life to protect my outfit, and I think I was successful, but I blacked out after that,” the product manager exclusively told Us in December 2021. “In real life, I blacked out not because of drinking, but because of the rage. It was just so insane. … I’ve never been in that situation before with someone who I thought we were OK — I thought we were good — and all of the sudden, you’re throwing wine. So, I saw red.”

Danielle explained that “in that moment of rage, I just couldn’t believe it was happening,” revealing that she watched the trailer of the wine-throwing scene it’s clear that she “had no idea wine glass was being thrown at me.” She continued: “Because the wine happened and then the wine glass happened.”

Ciara Was ‘Seeing Red’

“It happened so fast. Seeing the slow-mo of it. It was like very … it was bad,” the Atlanta native told Showbiz CheatSheet in January. “It wasn’t great. But I don’t even remember it being like a two-motion thing. It just felt like it was all at once. And it’s just like, you know, ‘Screw you.’ And then I was seeing red. It was a dinner that I went into very hot. And then continued to get pissed off throughout it.”

Ciara added: “I think there was like some underlying tension. I mean we’re both Capricorns. And I feel like we definitely hold on to things, especially when we feel like we’ve been wronged. So I really don’t have any beef towards Danielle, currently.”

Paige Recalls ‘Messy’ Fight

The “Giggly Squad” podcast cohost remembered trying to get out of the away as Ciara threw her wine at Danielle during the Hamptons dinner. "Obviously, as one of the most selfish people on the planet, my first thought was, 'Wow, I really hope I don't get red wine on this dress, because I really love it,'" she half joked during a January interview with Entertainment Tonight. "When anything physical ever breaks out, I immediately go the other way. I am not one to get messy.”

Paige explained that she will “fight all day” with her words, but “once objects are thrown or fists come up, I'm totally out.” She recalled the altercation being a “crazy moment” for the housemates, noting that it was “so not Ciara's personality."

The New York native pointed out that Ciara apologized after the incident “because that’s so not her character” and things appeared to be good when they left the Hamptons.

“Danielle and her left that weekend and that summer cool and friends," Paige added. "I don't think that changed [between] us airing to us leaving the house. They talked about everything and they were fine, but it was definitely out of character for Ciara and she really is such a good person and sometimes people make mistakes. Ours just happened to be captured on camera."

Ciara Had a ‘Fit of Rage’

“I threw wine at Danielle. That is that I'm very nervous about [watching back],” Ciara exclusively told Us in January. “I mean, it is one thing to, like, live through it and like, you know, I just kind of blacked out in that moment and just so much was happening. But to see it, I was like, ‘Not my best moment.’”

She continued: “[It’s] not, like, I don't think like my reaction was insanely poor, but you know … I still feel like my points were valid. Whether they were able to hear it or not.”

Ciara admitted at the time that she didn’t know where she currently stands with Danielle after the ordeal. “She was, like, at a lot of our Winter House [promo] stuff and, like, we were cordial. But I think the temperatures kind of change since the trailers come out.”

The Aftermath

Danielle told Entertainment Tonight in March that she only has a memory of some of the traumatic events that transpired between her and Ciara over the summer. “Me getting up out of my seat in retaliation, I definitely remember like the back of my hand... and then there was a moment where I was completely just black," she claimed. "I was hyperventilating afterward."

The New Jersey native recalled being “very upset” after she and Ciara started throwing things at each other following an altercation about Ciara’s feelings toward Lindsay and Austen for hooking up in the Hamptons even though she had feelings for the Kings Calling Brewing Co. founder.

“I had to be calmed down off-camera. Amanda had to come out and see me just to make sure that I was OK, because I was very upset, but the in-between that has been captured and then played back in slow motion — thanks to our Bravoholics — that, I definitely did not recall,” Danielle told the outlet.

She addressed her own reaction to Ciara’s wine toss, admitting that she did throw a glass down on the ground and then picked up a candle. "The lit candle was ... something. It was very disappointing to see for myself,” Danielle added. “Because I was like, 'What did I think I was doing with that lit candle?'"

Andrea Denver Weighs In

The Italy native exclusively told Us in March that while he was not at the dinner table when the fight broke out, the fallout plagued the rest of the summer. “It kind of, like, set the tone for a while,” Andrea explained, noting that he hopes the women will get their chance to “clear the air” during the Summer House reunion.

“At the end of the day when we were there, we didn't feel too much [of] that pressure. I feel like it was more [of] their individual, like, situation,” he continued. “So we couldn't really tell from outside what was really going on. If there was like still, like, some beef, because an apology came [during that time], you know? So that's all we knew.”

All Good?

"I really don't know where we stand," Danielle told E! News in June. "I do know that there are certain people that I want in my life that I trust and that I feel like I can be myself around and at this very moment in time, she's just not one of them."

She noted that the season 6 reunion, which aired in May “helped” her relationship with Ciara, but the situation wasn’t totally remedied. "I kind of said my piece and I said what I wanted to say to her. I don't know what the future holds,” Danielle added.
