Have we made it clear just how much we love chenille? Considering we’ve yet to scale a pyramid and shout, “We love it!” from the peak, we’re going to say no. We’ll get there eventually, but for now, we’re going to do our best to prove our love for it anyway, which is going to be a piece of cake with this fabulous sweater we just found.
The Superdown Gia Long Sleeve Sweater has all of the coziness of a classic knit sweater and all of the luxurious smoothness of velvet. It’s also crazy cute. Listening? We thought so. Shoppers have so many wonderful things to say about their Gia sweater. It’s “cozy and fabulous,” one said, recognizing the best of both worlds. Another commented on what makes the Gia stand out, saying it’s “not itchy like some sweaters can be.” Phew! Itchy sweaters are basically an oxymoron and should not exist.
This sweater’s fabric is thick for warmth, but it won’t weigh us down like some oversized, chunky knits. We will be wearing it; it won’t be wearing us. It’s cropped, falling at our waist, making it a wonderful match for high-waisted bottoms. The edges of the sweater are ribbed, so it maintains its shape throughout the day, nothing stretching and sagging out of place. The neckline is slightly raised for a mock-neck effect, which looks mega-cool with statement earrings. High neck and high waistline? Is high-high the new high-low? We’re into it.
Superdown is a modern brand that prides itself on offering “super trendy” clothing. It aims for the happy medium between “laid-back Cali vibes” and “downtown glam,” including styles from west coast to east coast to all that’s in between. The brand is a top choice for either day or night looks, and the Gia sweater can be worn no matter the hour.

If we’re aiming for a fashion-forward daytime look, we can slip on some high-waisted denim leggings and canvas sneakers or ankle booties. Or how about keeping it soft from head to toe with some velvet leggings? We would basically be wearing a cloud at that point. We don’t have to stick with pants, though. We can layer this sweater on top of a simple, carefree dress with royal connotations, too, instantly elevating our look. Feeling extra chilly? Add on another layer with a super warm jacket! How cute will we look all bundled up like that? Very.
So how can we take this sweater from day to night? With ease! Trade in the casual dress for a fancier floral one and slip on a pair of heels in any color, or perhaps tall boots. We can also go for faux leather leggings for a shine that’s as comfortable as it is visually stunning. We can guarantee that compliments will be flowing like water out of a broken faucet we’ll never want to fix.
If we want to wear this sweater to work, we can pair it with these leggings that look like dress pants. A high-waisted pencil skirt might turn our work-play aesthetic into the main topic of the morning meeting, but we’re more than prepared to present and pose. Take notes, everyone!
Because this chenille sweater is black, its versatility is increased endlessly. We can pair it with any color, which means getting dressed in the morning will be a snap. That’s right, we’re setting our alarm for later and later. We’re done with standing in front of our full wardrobe wondering why we never, ever have anything to wear.
