Actor David Carradine Found Dead

Oscar-nominated actor David Carradine, best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine on the 1970s TV series Kung Fu, has died. Carradine. 72, was found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok, a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said Thursday.

Citing unidentified police sources, local newspaper The Nation reported that the actor was found hanged in his luxury hotel room and is believed to have committed suicide. His manager Chuck Binder called the death "shocking and sad."
Carradine was part of the famed Hollywood acting family that included his father, John Carradine, and brother Keith. The actor - who was married five times and divorced four - is survived by his widow, Annie Bierman, whom he wed in 2004. He was nominated as Best Actor for his role as Woody Guthrie in 1976's Bound for Glory and recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, playing the role of Bill. "I don't need to convince anybody that I know kung fu, but maybe somebody needs to know that I really can act, without doing a Chinese accent or a funny walk," he once said.
