Swift's gone solo -- to the ACM Awards at least.

Taylor Swift snagged her second consecutive Entertainer of the Year Award at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas Sunday, but the night took on a bit of a somber tone, as the country star's date had to skip the big music fete.

Intending to walk the red carpet with Kevin McGuire, a Somerdale, N.J., high school football player, Swift, 22, attended the show solo after McGuire, who has cancer, was unexpectedly hospitalized.

Vowing to make it up to 18-year-old McGuire -- who originally asked Swift to be his prom date via Facebook -- Swift offered him a special hello from Sin City.

"My date tonight was supposed to be a high school football player named Kevin McGuire and he's not here, but I promised I'd give him a shout out," she said after accepting her trophy Sunday. "Kevin and all your family and all your friends, thank you for wanting to take me to the ACMs."
