‘Southern Charm’ Season 7: What We Know

The tide is changing in Charleston. Cameran Eubanks may not be back for Southern Charm season 7, but the show must go on. Southern Charm, which premiered in 2014, first made cast changes at the end of season 1. While Kathryn Dennis was upgraded to full-time status, Jenna King left the show altogether. The original cast also included Cameran, Whitney Sudler-Smith, Shep Rose, Thomas Ravenel and Craig Conover. “I was a little surprised. I figured [Jenna] would come back, but she didn’t,” Cameran told Bravo in May 2019. “I’ve never really understood what Jenna does in the first place, so I don’t know but she always makes it happen. And she’s always traveling to some place fabulous on a private jet. She has a way cooler life than me, that’s for sure.” Over the next couple seasons, the reality show added Naomie Olindo, Austen Kroll and Chelsea Meissner. While Landon Clements also came and went, the biggest shakeup to date was when Thomas was fired after he was arrested and pleaded guilty to assault charges in 2018. The former politician was a central part of the show for five seasons. Months before she announced her exit, Cameran implied that she would be back for the seventh season during an interview with Us Weekly. “It’s nuts. It’s been really fun and interesting to watch everybody grow in different ways,” she told Us at BravoCon in November 2019. “Season 7 is going to be a very high opening season in terms of, you will see that some people have made some big strides in growth and some have stayed the same. Sadly.” [jwplayer oJ7erj23] She also teased at the time that her husband, Jason Wimberly, was more open to coming on the show. Cameran’s marriage was previously omitted from the series. The Premiere Date

Southern Charm returns to Bravo Thursday, October 29, at 9 p.m. ET.

New Production Schedule

While Bravo cameras typically follow the group in autumn, production did not resume during the fall of 2019.

“I’m excited that if it comes back, this will be the first year that I’m doing anything successfully, there was a lot of times that I was doing stuff, but it was half-assed,” Craig teased to Us in October 2019. “I’ve never been in his capacity before while filming. It’s great that I’ve had this fall to really focus on the company. … I’ve never had a successful business on the show.”

They Started Filming …

Us confirmed in February 2020 that the cameras finally started rolling.

… And Then Stopped

Craig, however, confirmed that production was suspended during an April 2020 interview.

“It’s a bummer with this unprecedented situation but it really felt like we got back to our roots. It’s very organic and transparent,” he told Decider. “[After] having such a long break, everyone kinda came in full steam ahead, so it was pretty wild and a lot of drama. Everyone basically kept what was going on in their lives and the cameras showed up and started to catch all the drama that happens in our everyday life. It was really good.”

After capturing some footage during the quaratine, the show wrapped in July 2020.

Thomas Filmed

The disgraced politician exclusively told Us in October 2020 that fans may see him on season 7. “I just let them film a little segment with the kids as a favor to Kathryn,” he told Us. “I wasn’t paid. At the time, she was staying at my house in the guest room because her house was being painted and was unsafe for her and the kids.”

Cameran Eubanks Isn’t Returning

The fan-favorite confirmed via Instagram she wasn’t coming back for season 7 in May 2020.

She later shut down speculation that she quit the show because of “insidious rumors” about her marriage to Jason. 

“You must protect what is sacred to you. Some things aren’t worth a big paycheck. What upsets me the most is that my husband, who is the most sincere and faithful human I know being is falsely dragged into this. It disgusts me,” Cameran wrote via Instagram. “He always supported me filming the show even though he wanted no part of the spotlight. I can’t get too upset though because this is what you sign up for when you put your life on reality TV … and why I’m getting out of it now. Drama is needed to stay relevant on reality television and sadly false rumors about others are sometimes created."

Cameron added that she informed Bravo of her decision “months ago” and reiterated that it had “absolutely nothing to do with ridiculous and fake rumors about my marriage.”

Naomie Olindo Leaves

Naomie sparked speculation in February 2020 that she was done with the show. “Post reality TV life is rough OK?!?!?” Naomie wrote alongside an Instagram Story about her volunteering at Costco. “Out here at Costco just trying to make a buck alright!”

She confirmed in May 2020 that she was not returning. Two months later, Naomie broke her silence on her exit.

“I mean some people on Southern Charm will literally write notes and read books and write notes in the margins [like], ‘Oh this is what this cast member does so I want to crush my enemy and I’m gonna follow this strategy,’” she told hosts Lauryn and Michael Bosstick on their podcast in July 2020. “So people will strategize and once it starts getting to that point, it can get so toxic. So that’s why for me, and I think I could probably speak for amid and Chelsea too, when it reaches that level where some people just have nothing to lose and are willing to sing for their supper and do whatever it takes whether that’s try to ruin your marriage or your relationship or say something about your children or whatever, it’s just too much and personally for me, I can’t be in that because it makes me depressed.”

Chelsea Meissner Is Out Too

After Cameran confirmed her exit, Naomie implied that she and Chelsea left the show too. A source later confirmed to Us that all three women quit. 

“I’m so damn proud of you and us @chelseameissner58,” Naomie commented on Cameran’s Instagram post about quitting Southern Charm.

Eliza’s Done

After one season as a full-time cast member, Eliza Limehouse confirmed her exit to People magazine in August 2020. Eliza, who got engaged to boyfriend Mark “Struthers” McBride, Jr. after season 6, will not be featured at all on season 7.

Shep Rose’s Gal Pal Is Involved

Taylor Ann Green teased a potential role on the show to Us in April 2020 after she was caught posting — and deleting — flirty pics with Shep.

“Shep and I are great friends, loving spending time and laughing together,” Taylor told Us. “Looking forward to season 7!”

A month later, she confirmed their relationship.

Ashley Jacobs Is Gone for Good

Thomas' ex-girlfriend caused quite the stir during seasons 5 and 6, but she won’t be back in South Carolina anytime soon. “Ashley’s gone! Gone!” Kathryn told Us at BravoCon in November 2019.

Madison LeCroy If a Full-Time Cast Member

Before the shutdown, Austen’s on-again, off-again girlfriend posted several photos with the cast in Charleston via Instagram.

And as of November 2019, the twosome were more on than off, but as fans know, their relationship status is always changing.

“This week, I’m doing well with Madison. Next week, I’ll let you all know,” Austen said at BravoCon. “I tried to go our separate ways. Madison has been a person for me for a long, long time. It’s hard to walk away from someone like that. She really is a hell of a woman. She’s got it going on. I find it hard to walk away from her.”

The pair's rocky romance was on display in the teaser.

The Newcomers

Naomie revealed on the “Skinny Confidential” podcast in July 2020 that her friend Leva Bonaparte joined the cast.

“Kathryn stayed and as far as I know, they’re still filming and they have a couple new girls. My friend Leva, I mean I love Leva, I think she’s great,” she said. “So we’ll see. I mean they’re still going.”

Shep’s ‘Brother’ Joins

Shep’s fraternity brother John Pringle is another newbie for season 7.

The ‘Friends’ Are Back

Patricia Altschul (and son Whitney) and Danni Baird will all be featured on season 7 in “friend” roles. And in the teaser, Kathryn’s friendship with longtime pal Danni is tested.
