Exclusive: Bethenny Frankel Slams Gisele's "Absurd" Breastfeeding Comments

Move over, Kelly Bensimon: Bethenny Frankel has found a new nemesis in Gisele Bundchen.
Bravo star Frankel was among the legions of moms outraged by Bundchen's recent comments about breast feeding to Harper's Bazaar UK.

After bragging about her post-baby weight loss, the supermodel mom, 30, opined to the mag that "there should be a worldwide law...that mothers should breast-feed their babies for six months."
"It's the most absurd thing I've ever heard," Frankel, 39, retorts of Bundchen in the new Us Weekly.

"Breastfeeding is one of the most rewarding experiences, but it isn't for everyone," she adds.
To be fair, Bundchen backed down a bit on her controversial comments following a public outcry; on August 2, she blogged, "Everyone has their own experience...I'm not here to judge."

Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy welcomed daughter Brynn in May, while Bundchen and husband Tom Brady's son Benjamin was born last December.

You gotta love Bethenny Frankel for her "frankness"!! Gisele's small-minded comments ARE absurd! She should take note on Ms. Frankel's "beauty and BRAINS" (she's built an empire [yes, in part to her fame from her reality show "Housewives of New York City", but she was first a natural food chef and is now writing best-selling books). Instead of shooting off the hip an ignorant opinion of hers the way she did, Gisele should think outside of her little planet that not everyone has the same situation as her!

Breasts produce milk for a reason! Gisele is lucky to have beauty and common-sense, this other ignoramus has neither.
Wow, can't believe all the catty slams at Giselle! People, she's just trying to challenge our backwards perceptions about breasts....uh, they were made to do this! It's unfortunate so many women here are saying they tried and couldn't...that's because hospitals and the formula companies make it VERY hard for women these days so they can make $$$. I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT THIS..........exactly, well put some people just don't get it, and they get offended so easily, they just need to understand, im sure everyone has made a comment lyk that at least once in their lives, i know i have definitely said stuff like that numerous times,something like "oh mountain dew is soo good everyone should have to drink it" (only used mt. dew cuz i have 1 sitting in front of me). that was just an example, im sure many of you have said something along those lines, and would you want ppl to bash you and say negative things about u just for a comment like that, i dnt think so.
Gisele's statement was meant to be in a positive light. Why is anyone really upset by her comment. If you aren't able for medical reasons, she's not talking to you. I'm sure she means those who are very capable, should make a solid effort to breastfeed their baby. It's not for everyone, but the benefits outweigh any other issue. NOt doing it because you don't produce enought milk, work, or don't have patience is not a good reason not to do it, your just being selfish if that's your excuse. Drinking and not wanting to have your baby with you is not really the words of a great mother.

I should have said people arent taking this "literally" I think it was you that said something like "calm down, she didnt actually mean this should be a law" or something. Nobody thinks she really meant that... but what she said was stupid. Bottom line.
Bottom line: Gisele is paid to stand there & look pretty, not to speak. Every time she opens her mouth, she sounds like a complete idiot. How about when she told the world her son was completely potty trained at 6 months? Please. Regardless, she should not be putting her beliefs on anyone else. Breastfeeding can be extremely painful for some women or, women like me, may be unable to produce enough milk for every feeding. You do your best as a mother and every mother has the right to make decisions that suit her and her child. It is not the decision of some ditz. And all those bashing Bethenny and her breasts? Keep in mind Gisele is from the plastic surgery capital of the world...
if you watch her show...Bethenny seems to be dying to drink...so, i'm sure that's why she wants to stop breast feeding...
Bethenny is just jealous that Gisele is a young, hot supermodel, while she's an old lady with fake boobs.
Not all women are pysically able to breastfeed so making a statement like that only makes these women feel badly that they cannot feed their baby without a bottle. Jeez...
