Chris Brown: People Are Perceiving Me Wrong

As he continues to apologize publicly for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown says he doesn't know why people have a hard time believing that he is remorseful.

The New York Post reports that Brown still can't live down the attack.
The paper posts a video of a woman getting within a few feet of him Wednesday in NYC and screaming: "[bleep]ing beater!" and "I hope someone beats the [bleep]ing [bleep] out of you!"
Brown just smiles and walks past her.

i really think people should let this go! Chris Brown just so happens to be one of the many men who have made this same mistake. Everyone must be forgiven of their sins. If God can do it, why can't we? It happened, he apoligized & he did his punishments for it. Aint nun else he can do so why yall haters still trippin? Jaz - What does being 19 have to do with anything. Yes, most people have hit some one in their lifetime, however most were 5 or 6 years old not 19. Most children are taught not to hit others EVEN if provoked. Once out of 1st grade you know to keep your hands to yourself..

I don't believe he's an abuser. Reports were that she put her hands on him on a regular basis, and he did nothing. I think he fought back this time, yes he went too far, but it sounds like it began as self defense. She's acting all innocent but I think she played a significant part in this. I don't believe there is ever a reason for a man to beat a woman, but I also think that women that beat on men and get hit back out of anger, frustration, being fed up, being young, alcohol, whatever, shouldn't readily cry wolf. Anyway I just think she's playing more of a victim than she is.
Of coursse people are going to look at him in a bad light still. Saying sorry and pleading guilty doesnt change the fact that he laid his hands on a female. I honestly believe he will do it again in the future. This wont be the last we hear of Chris Brown being involved in a domestic act with a gf
People are perceiving him wrong because his apologies don't come off as genuine and from the heart. He is sad he made the mistake, lost her, and looks bad. That is different from being sorry about the act itself and how much he hurt her. His ego is typical of someone with anger issues and an abuser.
i really think rhianna started it and really deserved the beating i think that chris would come back cause he really have great talent and anyway he is so good-looking that is my baby.
People are so transparent. If Chris Brown was not good-looking, talented and had not achieved so much success early on, he would not have so much support. If a regular joe was on the news for beating his girlfriend, people wouldn't care OR they'd be screaming for his head. You can't have it both ways. What's wrong is WRONG!!
Of course people are going to perceive you badly and talk about you Chris! You hit a woman! I'm glad you're taking responsibility for what you did and are able to learn from it but it doesn't change the fact that what you did was wrong. I hope you get some counseling before you get into another relationship.

I saw that interview with Rihanna and I got the feeling she was omitting information especially when asked about how it all started. However, Rihanna is the one who was hit and she says she forgives him, yet people who don't know him at all want to persecute him, go figure.
i think rihanna is correct in whatever she is doing right now by breaking up with chris and so on, cuz im a man and as a man if we do something like this and we get off we tend to think that we have control over the woman and trust it will happen again, im just saying this to help both men and women. Chris has taken responsibility, paying his dues and hopefully will continue to speak against abuse - he needs to continue to move forward - people will always talk! Chris is talented young man who made a mistake and has taken responsibility. Hope he will learn from the anger management classes and continue to seek help for anger and relationship issues. Rihanna and chris don't belong together. Rihanna has some issues that she needs to work out and chris needs to continue working on his issues. Chris the new music is great!

I think that Rihanna deserved it because if your going to hit someone, you should expect to get hit back! I understand that a man should never hit a woman under any circumstances, but in the interview, Rihanna didn't answer the question clearly when she was asked what did she do to provoke him. She kind of stumbled on that question. All of the celebrities that go to jail, we usually see their mugshot. I would love to see Chris Brown's mugshot to see what she did to him. Abuse goes both ways.
