Chloe Sevigny

Chloë Sevigny is an actress, director and fashion figure known for her work in independent films and acclaimed television series, including Kids, Boys Don’t Cry and Big Love. Sevigny spent her childhood in Darien, Connecticut, with her older brother, Paul. She grew up in a Catholic household and attended Darien High School, where she participated in the school’s Alternative Learning Program. She spent summers at theater camp and developed an early interest in acting and fashion.

After graduating high school in 1992, Sevigny began modeling and working in New York. She first modeled for the fashion magazine Sassy after being scouted in the East Village, and she later went on to intern for the magazine. She made her film debut in the 1995 teen drama Kids. Her performance in Boys Don’t Cry (1999) earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and an Independent Spirit Award win. She went on to build a career spanning independent and mainstream projects.

Over the years, Sevigny has starred in films like Gummo (1997), The Last Days of Disco (1998), American Psycho (2000), Dogville (2003), Zodiac (2007), Queen & Slim (2019) and After the Hunt (2025). On television, her role as Nicolette Grant on Big Love won her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film in 2010. She has also appeared in American Horror Story, Portlandia, Bloodline, Russian Doll and The Five Star Weekend. She earned a 2025 Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in Monster.

Sevigny dated Harmony Korine in the 1990s and later had a long-term relationship with musician Matt McAuley, whom she dated for about eight years before their 2008 split. She began dating art gallery director Siniša Mačković in 2018 and they married in March 2020. They welcomed son Vanja in May 2020.
