Biography:
Born Shaffer Chimere Smith in Arkansas in 1982, Ne-Yo is a well-known singer-songwriter and producer.
Ne-Yo has written songs for artists such as Beyonce, Mario, Britney Spears and Rihanna.
His debut album, In My Own Words was released in 2006 by Def Jam and quickly went platinum, selling almost two million copies nationwide. He released his second album, Because of You in 2007.
Ne-Yo has also appeared on the TV shows All My Children and Las Vegas and in the films Save the Last Dance 2 and Stomp the Yard.

In June 2010, the singer announced he and actress girlfriend Monyetta Shaw will welcome their first child in early 2011.
