Zedd

Zedd (born Anton Zaslavski) is a Russian-German DJ, record producer and songwriter best known for his electronic dance hits including “Clarity,” “Stay” and “The Middle.” Zedd was born in Saratov, Russia, before moving to Kaiserslautern, Germany, with his family as a young child. His parents were musicians and he began playing piano at age 4 before learning drums at 12. As a teenager, he played drums in the post-hardcore band Dioramic before becoming interested in electronic music.

Zedd began gaining attention in the electronic music scene around 2010 after winning Beatport remix contests and releasing remixes of songs by artists including Skrillex. He signed with Interscope Records in 2012 and released his debut studio album, Clarity, that same year. The title track, featuring Foxes, became his breakthrough hit and established him as a mainstream producer and performer.

Zedd won his first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Clarity” in 2014. He has received six Grammy nominations, including for “Stay” with Alessia Cara, “The Middle” with Maren Morris and Grey and his 2024 album Telos. He has also produced songs for stars including Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.

Zedd’s most high-profile relationship was with Selena Gomez, whom he dated in early 2015 after collaborating on “I Want You to Know.” He was later briefly linked to Olivia Culpo.
