Three years after Bachelor viewers watched Lauren Bushnell Lane get engaged on national television, the former flight attendant confirmed that she was set to be married again — and this time, she headed to the altar with country singer Chris Lane. Bushnell Lane shared the happy news on Instagram on June 18, 2019, as she praised her future husband. “I can’t stop smiling 😭,” she wrote. “I feel so incredibly blessed that every misstep, mistake and heartache has led me to you. That July, Bushnell Lane started dating Devin Antin, but she and the real estate investor split in August 2018. Four months before calling it quits, she watched Lane perform at Stagecoach and even went backstage to hang out with him. She was attending the music festival with Antin, but he was not backstage during Bushnell’s meet-and-greet with her future husband. All those romantic ups and downs are history, though, now that she and the “I Don’t Know About You” crooner have tied the knot and started a family. First Red Carpet

Us Weekly confirmed the duo were dating after they got close on the BMI Country Music Awards red carpet in November 2018. “Chris had his arm around Lauren as they walked onto the red carpet and they posed together,” an onlooker told Us at the time. “Lauren was standing front row during Chris’ performance.”

Talking to the Ex

Before he started dating the designer, Lane dated another Lauren B. — namely, Lauren Barr, another contestant from The Bachelor season 20. “Chris was dating LB right before Lauren,” a source told Us in November, adding that Bushnell Lane had called Barr a couple of days prior “to tell her that they were together.”

Teeing Off With Papa Bushnell

Lane stoked engagement rumors in January 2019 when he raved about his “great day on the course with [his] potential future father-n-law,” i.e. Bushnell Lane’s father. (“Y’all, just so you’re aware, I’m not engaged,” the singer later clarified in his Instagram Stories.)

At the 2019 ACM Awards in April, Lane told Entertainment Tonight he was “working on” a proposal for Bushnell Lane. “Don’t tell her that, though,” he joked at the time.

Bushnell Lane announced in August 2019 that they adopted a dog and purchased a home in Nashville. “It’s without shock to anyone who knows me well but, we have decided to make Cooper a permanent part of our family,” she wrote via Instagram. “So happy we get to love you Coop- now that we have adopted you I’ll start working on your dad and finding you a brother/sister, but for now it’s the 3 of us! Oh! And!! WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!”

The twosome celebrated their impending wedding at an engagement party in his native North Carolina in September 2019. “It’s been an incredible year in my career as well as my personal life,” he shared on Instagram. “Took the weekend off to celebrate our engagement in Kernersville with both of our families!! A month after tying the knot, the newlyweds attended the Country Music Association Awards in November 2019. “It felt different walking the red carpet as a married couple, in the best way” the crooner told Us exclusively at the time. “We knew we really liked each other when we came to the CMAs together last year, but this time around it’s so special to step on the red carpet with someone I love so dearly and introduce her now as my wife.”

First Married Christmas

Ahead of the couple’s first married Christmas together, Lane told Us about his plans with his new wife and where they’d be spending the holidays. “This year, we won’t be starting any new traditions, however, our goal is to have both of our families in Nashville next Christmas in hopes of making that a new Christmas tradition,” the singer said in December 2019. “I’ve always loved family time during the holidays, but it makes it even more special to have the girl I love right by my side.”

In March 2020, Lane revealed that the coronavirus quarantine had only strengthened his bond with Bushnell Lane. “I think going through a challenging time can bring people closer together or drive people apart,” the North Carolina native told Us. “I think for us, we’ve realized just how lucky we are to have each other during a time of uncertainty and it has definitely brought us even closer!”

Growing Family?

The “Hold You Tonight” singer and his wife aren’t planning on kids just yet, but he said “when it happens, it happens.” Although Lane told Us in May 2020 that he doesn’t know “if we’re completely ready for that yet,” he explained that “when it does [happen], it’ll be the right time.” When it comes to the number of little ones, Lane said he’s good with two, but the Oregon native has three siblings, so her number is higher. “She probably wants a lot from what I’ve heard,” he added.

Happy Anniversary

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary in October 2020. The Bachelor alum shared two photos of the happy couple on Instagram, while her husband posted a five-minute video of their nuptials and wrote, "Happy anniversary @laurenlane I can't believe it's been a year!! Love you Here's to getting old and grey together." Bushnell shared the post on her Stories and wrote, "This video still makes me cry."

The Bachelor alum announced in December 2020 that she was pregnant with the couple's first child. "A dream Except I’m not dreaming. I’m wide awake,” Bushnell Lane captioned an Instagram video of her baby’s ultrasound. “Holding your dads hand, watching you dance around in my belly. Listening to your little heart beat. My new favorite sound. A miracle. New life. Our sweet baby. Thank you Jesus! All the glory belongs to You." The "Big, Big Plans" singer also shared the video and wrote, "Prayer works! Hope you look like your Mama."

One month after revealing their pregnancy news, the twosome announced that they were expecting a son. "Sweet baby BOY, we cannot wait to meet you! I already love you so much! 💙💙💙," Bushnell Lane wrote via Instagram in January 2021 alongside footage from the day they found out the baby's sex with her family. "I’ve truly never seen Chris/my brothers so excited!"

Bushnell went into labor with son Baker nine days early in October 2022. It was “very chaotic, unplanned and panicked but the minute he came into this world he’s been nothing but peaceful and perfect,” she wrote via Instagram of the experience. “We love you Baker, welcome to the 🌍!”

Slowing Down on Baby No. 3

The “That’s What Mamas Are For” singer got real in January 2023 about his and Bushnell Lane’s plans for a third child after welcoming son Baker a few months prior. "I think with how tired we are right now, two is going to be enough, but I also think Lauren's wanting a girl," Lane told People. "So I wouldn't be surprised if we don't try for a third eventually.”

He joked: “But I pray that the good Lord above does not allow that to happen anytime soon.”
