He played a squeaky-clean doctor on ER, but in real life, Noah Wyle isn't going to go down without a fight.

The former ER star, 40, was arrested in Washington D.C. Monday for taking part in a protest on Capitol Hill. (100 of Wyle's fellow protestors were also cuffed.)

According to the Associated Press, Wyle joined the organization ADAPT as they protested potential cuts to Medicaid in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building. (ADAPT describes itself as a "grass-roots community" dedicated to fighting for rights for disabled Americans.)

Wyle isn't the only ER alum to get in trouble for his activism; his former costar George Clooney was arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy in DC last month for taking part in a protest against President Omar Al-Bashir.

The actor starred in NBC's medical drama as medical student Dr. John Carter for 11 seasons of the program's nearly 15-year run; more recently, Wyle appeared in Below the Beltway and TNT's Falling Skies.
