Update: Idol Hopeful Hospitalized for "Medical Issues"

Crystal Bowersox, the 24-year-old American Idol season 9 contender and mother of one, was hospitalized Tuesday, prompting the show to switch up its semifinals order.
"American Idol's 10 guys and 10 gals are swapping nights this week due to medical issues afflicting one of the women semifinalists," a show rep said in a statement.

On Tuesday's show, host Ryan Seacrest sent his well wishes: "Crystal, if you're watching, we hope you feel better very, very soon."

No word on the ailment that prohibited Bowersox from singing, but she is "believed to be a diabetic," the Los Angeles Times reports.
She is expected to perform on Wednesday's show.
