Nicollette Sheridan Sues Housewives Creator Over Alleged Assault
Nicollette Sheridan has filed a suit against her former employer, Marc Cherry, claiming he physically abused her on the set of the hit TV show.
In the lawsuit obtained by Usmagazine.com and filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Sheridan, 46, alleges assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. She is asking for $20 million in damages.
Sheridan claims that during a dispute over the script on September 24, 2008, Cherry, "took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head."
The suit asserts that Sheridan, who played sexy Edie Britt for nearly 5 years, reported the incident to ABC and the network did nothing to halt Cherry’s “extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show." The suit also contends that when Cherry discovered Teri Hatcher had complained to ABC about him as well, he said, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.”

A rep for ABC Studios tells Us, “While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.”
