Brittany Murphy's Last Meal: "Noodles, Gatorade"

Tuesday – December 22, 2009 – 11:49am

The night before her sudden Dec. 20 death at age 32, Brittany Murphy "had consumed some noodles, leftover Thai food, Gatorade, water and tea with lemon," according to notes from an investigator with the Los Angeles coroner's office.

Her frail frame at the Dec. 3 opening of Tt Collection's Pop-Up shop in Los Angeles caused many to wonder whether she suffered from an eating disorder. Her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, denies she had any issues, and her designer pal Tiffany Saidni tells the New York Post the short black dress she wore to the Dec. 3 event was "a size 2," the same size the actress wore when they met eight years ago.

See how Brittany Murphy's appearance changed over the years

Still, Murphy's Clueless director Amy Heckerling recalls how the actress "seemed to go through a change" after shooting the 1995 comedy. "Maybe she felt like she was not the, like, skinny, pretty girl, you know?" Heckerling told entertainment blog AndTheWinnerIs. "And then the next few movies she was, you know, thinner, blonde, you know, at MTV Awards and all sorts of things like that, and going out with Eminem and Ashton Kutcher, and, you know, suddenly got more into that whole glamorous scene ... I think she felt the pressure to become a different sort of commodity to survive in show business, and I think it was awful."

Look back on Brittany Murphy's life

Hecklerling said Murphy "could have done anything" had she lived.

"I think she did a few things after Clueless, you know, before she, sort of, tried to be more of a glamorous girl," said Hecklerling. "I mean, she certainly, you know, had talent and could have done a lot of things. She could have, as she got older, been a wonderful character, too. She had 'acting chops,' as they say, and, you know, she could have gone on for as long as she wanted."

With all the husbands spiking their wives' drinks with arsenic and other poison lately (for insurance money), I hope they are testing for poisons in the toxicology testing. Especially since she was vomitting.....

I'm a size OO,I'm 23 years old and I don't have an eating disorder. So what If someone looks skinny?! I understand how some people may believe she did, but she looked fine to me. Everyone is built different and because a young person died, doesn't always mean they had a disorder. I feel very bad for the family and friends.

The Hollywood crowd are the most messed-up people in the world. Murphu wanted to be like Julia Roberts. And she is second woman named Brittany in the world after Britney Spears!

I don't understand the talk about sudden death. She had been sick for days. Check out her last meal, people don't drink that stuff because they like the taste. I'm trying to understand why here family didn't take her to a hospital days ago.

She was also in "Riding in Cars with Boys" in 2001; a fantastic movie and no one has mentioned it! That movie won awards and was cast with at least 5 big name actors. It's funny - that's the first movie I thought of and none of these articles mention it.

I LOVED YOU SO MUCH, BRITTANY, SO FRIGGIN MUCH. You were a bright star amongst dark and twisted minded Hollywoodians, and a Rose amongst thorny Hollywood arrogants. If you had lived in the Black and White era(and into color[pre-modern times]) of film, you would have challenged the best, Audrey Hepburn, with equally adoring charms and the camera's love for you. You will be truly missed. Ashton sOcks for attempting some good-feel-religious promise with "see u at the other side kid." What a lame comment. I guess he thinks what seems like a COOL comment is better than being real.

the main reason we don't think diabetes killed her is because there is NO EFFIN' WAY a diabetes dr. would let a 32 year old woman get that sick & then let her die @ home. NO WAY.

when some one dies suddenly EVERYTHING about the circumstances could be important- her last meal? Might mean something. So the investigators write it down and this magazine reports it. An investigation into a death is not necessarily "pretty," but it needs to be done. And yes, lots of people want to know why. We would not be human if we did not wonder what happened. This woman's family will grieve in any event whether there are tabloid reports or not. Not sure why there is so much anger in these posts. The investigators are just doing their job.

Brittany is supposed to get buried tomorrow on christmas eve. After that maybe we can let her rest in peace and quit guessing on what she died of. sam-Has your parents ever taught you that people that have class don't correct people?Either your highly educated or you are immature for your age.Which one is it.

GetReal-- I have been a size 2 since I was in high school and I'm 38...healthy...and eat alot! Never once had an eating disorder. As much as eating disorders are prevalent these days (unfortunately), never assume that against anyone. The saddest part of this entire story is that someone so young has lost her life period :(

snowflake: they wouldn't have found the evidence in her enamel or her throat; that would be if she were bulimic. anorexia would be harder to diagnose upon surface things and would be more reliant on the function of the organs. heather: you gave no reason for why an educated person would not use "stupid moron"; "listen up," that is because it is redundant. you either call someone stupid or a moron. people are people. let the girl rest in peace...people did the same thing with mj.
