Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence rose to fame in the ‘90s as the middle Lawrence brother, in between older sibling Joey Lawrence and their younger brother Andrew Lawrence.

At the age of 4, Matthew followed his older brother’s footsteps and began acting with a role in the ‘80s drama series Dynasty.

He continued to pick up role after role throughout the decade, starring on shows like Sara and Gimme a Break! — as well as scoring the part of Steve Martin’s son in the 1987 holiday film Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Matthew’s star power exploded in the ‘90s. In 1993, he played Robin Williams’ son in the hugely successful comedy Mrs. Doubtfire while simultaneously building up his TV resume. Just two years later, in 1995, Matthew and his brothers landed their very own star vehicle: the sitcom Brotherly Love, which lasted until 1997. That same year, the actor scored another one of his most well-known roles: the part of Jack Hunter on Boy Meets World, which he played until the series ended in 2000.

In the early ‘00s, the Pennsylvania native once again showed off his talent on the big screen, including a role as Rachel McAdams’ boyfriend in the comedy The Hot Chick.

Amid the success in his professional life, Matthew started dating soap opera star Heidi Muller in 2004, and the two became engaged. However, they called it quits in 2006.

Just a year later, the actor met Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke while his brother Joey was competing on season 3 of the reality series. Though the two broke it off in 2008, they ultimately got back together in 2017. This same year, the three Lawrence brothers branched out into music together, forming a band called Still 3. Two years later, Burke and Matthew tied the knot.

In January 2022, however, the couple separated. The dancer filed for divorce from the actor a month later.
