Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas is a singer, dancer and actress best known as a member of the Grammy-winning R&B group TLC. Thomas grew up in Atlanta and attended Benjamin E. Mays High School, graduating in 1989. She began dancing and performing at a young age and later worked as a backup dancer before pursuing a career in music.

Thomas joined TLC in 1991 after the departure of cofounder Crystal Jones, becoming the third member alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The group rose to fame in the early 1990s with hits including “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “Creep” and “Waterfalls.” TLC went on to win multiple Grammy Awards and release albums including CrazySexyCool (1994), FanMail (1999) and 3D (2002).

Thomas later starred in and produced the VH1 reality series What Chilli Wants and appeared in the TLC biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. In 2026, she and longtime partner Matthew Lawrence began cohosting the Hallmark+ dating series Second Chance Love.

Thomas welcomed her only child, son Tron Austin (born in 1997), with music producer Dallas Austin. She later dated Usher from 2001 to 2003. She began seeing Lawrence in 2022, and the couple went public with their relationship in 2023.
