Mike Caussin

Mike Caussin is a former NFL tight end best known for his football career and high-profile marriage to country singer and actress Jana Kramer. Caussin spent his childhood in Springfield, Virginia, where he graduated from West Springfield High School before enrolling at James Madison University. He studied kinesiology with a concentration in sports management. He played college football for the James Madison Dukes and earned All-CAA honors as a senior in 2009.

Caussin went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent. He later joined the Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders (formerly named the Redskins). His NFL career included six games with the Bills in 2011, when he recorded five receptions for 41 yards. He did not receive any major professional awards.

Caussin became more widely known through his relationship with Kramer. The pair cohosted the award-winning “Whine Down” podcast and coauthored The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully, which was released in 2020.

Caussin and Kramer began dating in 2014 and married in 2015. They share two children, daughter Jolie Rae (born in 2016) and son Jace Joseph (born in 2018). The couple separated in 2016 over Caussin’s admitted infidelity before reconciling and renewing their vows in 2017. Kramer filed for divorce in 2021 before finalizing the case later that year. Caussin moved on with a new girlfriend in 2025 and has kept her identity private.
