Hadid and The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) started dating after the “Call Out My Name” singer asked the model to pose for the artwork for his Beauty Behind the Madness album, in April 2015. The Canadian singer later admitted to Rolling Stone, "My motive was literally to work with her.” Us exclusively confirmed the pair were dating in May 2015.

The pair announced their breakup in November 2016, citing their schedules as the reason for going their separate ways. “They still have a great deal of love and respect for each other and will remain friends, but it has been too hard to coordinate their schedules with him finishing and promoting his upcoming album,” a source told Us at the time. “They really tried to make it work."

Following their split, Hadid slayed the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris in November 2016 while The Weeknd performed. The pair remained professional, but the proof was in his set: the “I Can’t Feel My Face” singer couldn’t keep his eyes off his ex.

After The Weeknd was spotted making out with Selena Gomez in January 2017, Hadid shared a photo on Instagram of herself giving the middle finger. A source told Us that the IMG model had “very much moved on” from the singer — but she still unfollowed the Wizards of Waverly Place alum on social media.

Despite no longer being together, Hadid had his best interests at heart. “Bella has reached out to Abel a few times and told him Selena is using him,” a source told Us in January 2017. “He thinks she’s just jealous and isn’t listening to her.”

Hadid spoke candidly about her “first breakup” which she referred to as “so public” in February 2017. “As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily. It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through,” the model told Teen Vogue. “But I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him. Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”

While The Weeknd and the “Wolves” singer enjoyed Coachella in April 2017, an unfazed Hadid enjoyed a getaway to Dubai, where she went sky-diving, cruised around in a classic car and embarked on a fabulous boat ride.

After “The Hills” crooner made the cover of Forbes magazine in June 2017, Hadid “liked” a post shared by The Shade Room announcing the news. However, after fans noticed the show of support, the model removed it by “unliking” the post.

Speculation grew that Hadid was dating Drake after the “In My Feelings” rapper threw her a 21st birthday party in New York City in November 2017.

The two were “were canoodling and being affectionate as she sat on his lap,” according to a source, who also told Us, “They are 100 percent back together.”

Hadid and the “Wicked Games” singer didn’t hold back on their PDA at the Cannes Film Festival in France in May 2018, where they were seen kissing. They later took in a screening of Ash Is the Purest White, where they sat close and looked cozy, and a few days later, they attended the premiere of BlacKkKlansman. “It was obvious they were together,” an insider told Us at the time. “They weren’t trying to hide it.”
