April 18 is a big day in the Cruise-Holmes household: Suri Cruise turns 5!

What will Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes do for their little girl, famous for her high-priced couture ($850 Ferragamo bags, $635 dresses), jet-setting life and occasional use of a pacifier?

"This is my favorite day of the year," Holmes, 32, gushed during a Monday radio interview on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM show.

"She wants a pinata and her girlfriends to come over [and go] swimming," the Kennedys star explained of her low-key plans. "We're gonna make a cake together!"

Probably no Pin the Tail on the Donkey, though, Holmes suggested. "We're gonna have a little tea party. I kind of like to girl it up!"

Holmes also dished with Seacrest about two of Suri's favorite girly-girl books: Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious (about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she wakes up with pink skin and hair).

"Aren't those the best?" Holmes enthused. "She loves it!"

I hope by making her growup by taking away the pacifer and making her walk!

First of all: This is an OLD photo. Second... is not your child, so don't worry about it. Happy early Birthday, Suri.

Suri walks. If I remember correctly she was walking the day that snapped the picture of her with a pacifier in her mouth. LOL

Celebrate by allowing Suri to walk on her own and take away the paci from her mouth. That will be celebration enough and just in time for her to attend Kindergarten. :)

Not worry about the pick me up and dodge the papparazzi; it's the pacifier at age 5. But maybe that's a bit cuter than a thumb!

Try allowing her to walk on her OWN TWO FEET for once!

I still carry my son on occasion when trying to hurry from one place to the next or when he complains he's tired and he's like 6 months younger than her so I don't think that's a bad thing. Plus most people who thinks its weird to hold a 4 year old probably have more than 1 child where you wouldn't hold your 4 year old over your younger child(ren). Just saying

LOL! You guys are hilarious..has it ever dawned on any of you that maybe they do let Suri walk around until they see the paparazzi and THEN they pick her up and end up getting photographed? Maybe Suri is afraid of the paps or maybe they're just concerned she'll be trampled by the mass of them.

Suri is always wanting to not be around the paps so I say carry the kid so they arent bombarded with flashes.

I agree, Tom will carry Suri down the aisle on her wedding day

@Shanina-I agree with you that Suri needs to be walking, but there is probably a good reason. That is it's easier and safer to pick her up while trying to dodge the paparazzi.

"We'll be celebrating her 5th Birthday by getting BACK SURGERY from carrying her around ALL DAY LONG........." Blech.
