Angelina Jolie makes a cameo in a new documentary, Pushing the Elephant, about Rose Mapendo, a Congolese refugee-turned-human rights advocate who is reunited with her teenage daughter.

In the clip above, Mapendo hails 35-year-old Jolie, a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, at a 2009 UNHCR event in Washington D.C.

"My daughter told me, 'Watch out, she wants to break your record. Because I have 10 children,'" Mapendo jokes of Jolie, who has six children with beau Brad Pitt but said she is open to the idea of having more. See the top 10 gifts for moms.

These celebrities would do MUCH better if they "adopted" orphans from America. There are lots of black children in the U.S. that need a home, just as well as black Africans, but there's more publicity in buying one from a family in Africa than adopting one in Louisiana whose parents died in Katrina. Give me a break! Angelina is just as much a publicity hound as Madonna was when she bought that little black boy whose father thought he was just renting the child.

Angelina is a wonderful person. she goes to other countries and helps the people that need help unlike any of the other rich folks. she adopts these children cause they need it and she is always there helping

Newsflash! You people don't know Angelina and Brad nor do they know you. I'm sure they could care less about what anyone posting here thinks, so, get a life and stop passing judgement on people you know nothing about.

Adoptin kids is fine nd all bt exposin these kids to lavish lifestyle, nd also 2 the media will take its toll on these kids lives. On top of tht she makes statements to fight poverty nd injustice w.the help of her priveleged lifestyle. She nevr ws tht person b.f she started to be a u.n ambassador, or start thinkin of adopting kids for th same reasons. Thr ar pepul who don't have a privelegd background, yet they help more thn jolie will b.c thers a diff.between generosity/sacrifice nd philanthropy. While the former needs no money, status, image, privelegd lifestyle,etc... the later does. Anothr thing is, is jolie havin kids to fill a void in her life or make her life meaningful considering her past. Isn't tht cliche. Whn she nd brad gave permission to magazines to publish 3 of their kids baby picts, is obviously whn pepul startd to question whtr they ar doin all of this fr publicity etc... Their kids will always be followd arnd b.c their parents chose to put in the spotlight the moment thy wr born. Obviously,if kids visit their parents sets, premieres, party thn evrywhr they go, the paps will be ther.

I'm very concern for Ms Angelina Jolie HEALTH and Kids, I Hope that, Mr Brad Pitt IS NOT playing games with her this time!!! If he plays again it will be fatal for Ms Angie. She already lost a lots of weight, but let's be positive now. Italian 1973

I fully agree with SomeCommonSense ! Italian 1973

Wow! I am appalled at the vicious posts here trying to destroy a mother and child relationship. I hope when these kids are older they go after people who try their best to hurt them in this way. I'd say a few successful law suits for intentional infliction of emotional distress could do the trick and make posters pause & use their brains before being so irresponsible. It's been said before here but no one here knows the internal dynamics of this family. Your assumptions should embarrass you.

Kay pull your head out of the sand. These celebrities are buying these kids for publicity not because they really want them. They all have nannies taking care of them. They don't actually change the dirty diapers themselves and stay up with them at night with they have nightmares. They have nannies do their dirty work. They are only around when the cameras are in focus. Stop fooling yourself. These kids may no longer be living in squalor but they certainly aren't getting the love that they deserve...still.

Let's be real here. The fake "humanitarian" didn't "have" six kids. She "had" 3 (probably all by in vitro because they're fake about everything else why not about making babies?) and adopted 3.

  • August 06, 2010 - 2:58pm Kay

People who use the term "purchasing babies" shows their insensitivity and ignorance about the life changing nuances of adoption, and do a disservice by further stigmatizing those children who were unfortunate enough to be abandoned or without parents at a crucial time in their life. ...These ignoramuses also discourage parents from seeking orphans in other countries by making fun of it on talk shows...WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO when ABORTION (which is essentially the KILLING of a child) is more accepted than the nurturing & loving of a child through the process of adoption. SICK!

"The difference is, several of Jolie's children have been rescued from people having children they can't afford to take care of." -- Or "purchased from families in 3rd world countries desperate for money." Look, everyone, it's the new colonialism; you can buy an "ethnic" baby from its impoverished parents. Plus, "ethnic baby" is the new Prada in Hollywood!

I don't know either, Tee! Angelina and Brad only made three children. It's great that they, like millions of other couples have decided to adopt orphans.

    I love Anjie!

The difference is, several of Jolie's children have been rescued from people having children they can't afford to take care of. We should praise those who raise children as their own, who care for them and give them opportunities that would never have been available to them.

  • August 06, 2010 - 9:59am Tee

I don't know why people make a big deal out of how many children Angelina and Brad have. They can afford them. I think they should be married, but that's just own personally belief.
