By my calculations, my paternal grandmother was 40 when my father was born (in 1927). There's nobody I can ask,but I don't THINK she was being selfish.

Women over 40 having kids is not selfish. Many women have difficulties concieving even when they're young. When it happens, it happens. My mom had me at 42 naturally w/o any promblems. Congrats to Tina Fey and her bundle of joy.

You're right, it's much better to have children with your boyfriend of the week like so many celebrities do. Give me a break.

Congrats to them.....there is nothing wrong with a woman over 40 having a baby. it's not like the life expectancy is 35 anymore. @ Becky - some women over 40 do conceive naturally FYI.

@Becky stop being a snark women over 40 have been having children for decades even before scientific help was avaliable. nobody made Snarkey comments like that when Audrey hepburn had her youngest son Luca at 41 in 1970 of course having won an oscar is different than winning Emmy's
