The family's surprise appearance took place Friday at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. John held Ella's hand as he helped Walt Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook introduce the movie to fans. (All three appear in the comedy, which also stars Robin Williams).

"I always appreciate the audience's love for me," he told the crowd. "I hope they love Old Dogs as much as we do because I've got my baby in it."

Jett passed away at the age of 16 after suffering from a seizure while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas last January.

Everyone has a right to believe and a right to chose what to believe. Who are we to Condem a person cause of their faith? It's sad that The Travolta's lost their son,it shouldn't have happened. But it did. They have their reasons as to why they didn't want their son medicated. Understand that not ALL medications are suited for others. There's is no cure for Austhism, just medication, and if they chose not to have their son on medication, then that is their choice, not yours, mine or anybody elses, but theirs. It'd be like cancer or anyother illness, we have a choice to take the treatment and be sick or we can avoid all the pain and live our life as normal as possible and that choice is ours. I can understand why they didn't want Jett on medication. I don't agree with it,but i understand. U read about people taking prescription medication and how it is abused and not good for you. It can be addicting. So before anyone starts passing judgement or accussing anyone of murder understand what their reasons are. You may not approve, but try to understand their decision and respect it. Stop being judgemental and calling them murderers. 'Cause they're not. Tricia

If more people felt like you did Anna, our prisons would be very empty. Beliefs are one thing but neglect for a child's care is something else. I don't care if they were Scientologists, Buddhists, Christian or whatever. He admitted that his son was autistic AFTER he died. Sounds like he knew what it was all along and pretended it was something else. Get your priorities straight Anna, maybe care for a fellow human being should come before your belief in a system that would deny your own child much needed care. Funny how my post keeps getting deleted. Can't handle the truth? How about free speech?

You are NO ONE TO JUDGE what they believe in and the care they choose to have for there son!! So learn how to keep your comments to yourself. It's hard to loose a love one and the last thing a grieving family needs is people passing Judgment on them!

Sucks for them but not providing medical treatment to your child or pretending their disorder doesn't exist until after they die is close enough to murder that they should be held accountable for it. He could be alive today had they not ignored his problem.Sucks for them but not providing medical treatment to your child or pretending their disorder doesn't exist until after they die is close enough to murder that they should be held accountable for it.

Thank you Ginger ... it's about time people get their heads out of their asses and stop being insensitive ass hats! The only story here is that a family lost their son and brother! How dare anyone mar that with such crap and hurtful comments! RIP Jett and all heart goes out to the Travolta family!

Ginger, you said it just right...

  • September 14, 2009 - 1:54am Mike

Ginger, Scientology is not a religion - and its refusal to recognize mental illnesses as legitimate led to the death of this young child... It's about time people starting to recognize that Scientology kills, and stop pretending that it's a "religion" just like any other. I've been Catholic all my life, and the church has never instructed me to make medical decisions, especially ones that contradict a medical doctor's recommendations or widely accepted treatments based on REAL science, not a sci-fi writer's research into the history of humans and the earth, all of which he wrote - ironically - while under the influence of the psychiatric drugs Scientology is so vehemently opposed to... The Travolta's themselves may not be guilty - most Scientologists are so brainwashed that they will believe anything the church tells them, which is the real tragedy here. It's about time the US steps on the wagon with several other industrialized countries in investigating the Church of Scientology for its crimes. France may very likely ban the "Church" after a verdict is delivered in October following a trial accusing the cult of organized fraud, illegal practice of medicine, and taking advantage of vulnerable people for profit. We should do the same here. I'm all for religious freedom, but religion is free and Scientology is not. Enough is enough. May Jett rest in peace - as one previous commenter noted, he was born into the cult and never had a chance to live a real life. That is the most shameful aspect of this whole tragedy. My heart goes out to the Travolta's for their loss, but these kinds of incidents keep happening, and it's a crime. Bring Scientology to justice and save the next Jett from the unfortunate fate this poor child and his parents have had to suffer at the hands of the Scientology organization...

September 13, 2009 - 5:42pm Chris Says: if all you anonymous people had any integrity at all, you would not hide behind "anonymous" names on the Internet. You're all a bunch of gutless wonders who hide and engage in hate mongering and religious discrimination. It makes me sick, especially against a family who has suffered such an obviously devastating loss. Crawl back under whatever rock you came out of. __________________________________________________________ Unlike you, some of us aren't so self-important that we feel the need to put our names out there. Besides, anyone can type in any "name" and say others don't have "courage" just because they leave Anonymous. You're grasping at straws. Must be some Scientologists on here, from what I can see of the defenders.

  • September 13, 2009 - 10:21pm Brave Family

Why do some people have to always attack and lie about this family? The people who are attacking this family are total and complete scum. Go jump off the side of cliff. Really, go do it. No one will miss you because you're probably a miserable son of a b*tch anyway that no one can stand to be around. So go end yourself already. The world is waiting.

Umm, "Chris" your name is probably old harry who lives in his mothers basement. Besides anonymous is the default signature and it doesnt matter if some people dont wanna change it. You think writing 5 letters on a computer means you have guts? Do you even know the meaning of the word Integrity? It wasn't devastating to them. It should be, that's what people are upset about.
