Alana Stewart, Farrah Fawcett's best friend and producer of her recent television documentary Farrah's Story, has released the following statement to about the actress' death:

"There are no words to express the deep sense of loss that I feel. For 30 years Farrah was much more than a friend, she was my sister, and although I will miss her terribly, I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her."

Fawcett, 62, passed away Thursday at 9:28 a.m. PST at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., after a two-and-a-half year battle with cancer.

She was with Stewart, her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal and her doctor Lawrence Piro.
