Hayden Christensen was born on April 19, 1981, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Initially starring in Canadian television shows, he received American acclaim while appearing in Fox Family Network’s TV series Higher Ground in 2000.
Christensen received critical acclaim for his role in 2001’s Life as a House for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination. His role as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones in 2002 secured his place as a bonafide star in Hollywood.
While filming 2008’s Jumper, Christensen began dating Rachel Bilson, who he proposed to that December. The couple called off their engagement in August 2010, but reconciled three months later.
In October 2014, the couple welcomed their daughter, Briar Rose. “There’s a Disney reference there I suppose,” the actor said of his daughter’s name in August 2015 during an appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family, noting it’s the name of Sleeping Beauty.
After nearly 10 years together, Christensen and Bilson split in 2017. Us reported in September 2017, that the Hart of Dixie star returned fulltime to L.A., while the Canadian star went back to Toronto following their breakup.
