About

Anne Marie “Ree” Drummond (née Smith) is a blogger, author, television personality and food writer best known as the creator and host of The Pioneer Woman. Drummond spent her childhood in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, alongside her three siblings and attended Bartlesville High School. After graduation, she moved to California to attend the University of Southern California and study journalism, later switching her major to gerontology. She originally planned to attend law school before her future changed after returning to Oklahoma and meeting her husband.

Drummond launched her blog, The Pioneer Woman, in 2006, chronicling life on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma. The site quickly attracted a large audience through stories about ranch life, family and cooking. Her success online led to bestselling books, cookbook deals and recognition in the blogging world. In 2011, she expanded her brand to television after The Pioneer Woman premiered on Food Network, turning her into one of the network’s most recognizable personalities.

In addition to The Pioneer Woman, Drummond has published multiple cookbooks, memoirs and children’s books, including Black Heels to Tractor Wheel (2011). Throughout her career, she has appeared on programs including The Good Dish and Good Morning America, and she has also released a collection of home decor and kitchenware products through Walmart.

Drummond married Ladd Drummond in 1996. They share five children: Alex (born in 1997), Paige (born in 1999), Bryce (born in 2002), Jamar (born in 2002) and Todd (born in 2004). She has one grandchild.
