Ahead of the season 3 finale, Maddy (Alexa Demie) had to ask Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) for money after Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) found out that Nate (Jacob Elordi) only had 72 hours to live. Alamo made Maddy put on a bathing suit and get in the hot tub while complimenting her.

Alamo ultimately agreed to help Maddy get the $1 million needed to save Nate and the scene cut off. Viewers, meanwhile, wondered if the scene hinted at Maddy having to sleep with Alamo to secure the deal but that wasn’t clarified.

Later in the episode, Alamo made sure to tell Maddy that he’s going to get 20 percent of her future earnings. This revelation was made worse when they found Nate’s body and Maddy realized her deal was for nothing.

“That was a cool way to go. Nate was someone who has made so many mistakes and made so many dark choices,” Elordi explained in a segment that aired after the Sunday, May 24, episode. “It’s cool to see it all come to what it’s come to.”

Elordi recalled having to film in a coffin, adding, “My shoulders were touching the side and they couldn’t move my arms. Then they would drill the lid on it and it would get dark. 
It was really nice, actually. It was quite peaceful in there.”

The stunt team, meanwhile, stressed how important it was to make sure the actor had oxygen. They praised Elordi for agreeing to spend “minimal time in the coffin.” Viewers may be surprised, however, to find out that creator Sam Levinson “wanted to shoot it with a real snake” so a rattlesnake and a boa constrictor were both featured on screen.

“Snakes were rattling, which was really alarming when you are locked in a box,” Elordi noted. “They had a boa constrictor that they put a fake rattler on the end of it.”

He continued: “He was super cute. He was really cuddly. So he kind of just sidled up next to me and it was nice. But he was really sleepy. He was a sleepy snake. I had to kind of nudge him to get him to come up. And that was it.”

Mansi, who joined the long-running soap in 2023, added that new projects required her “full attention” as did the need to support her husband, Matt McInnis. “With my husband currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles,” she said.

The interview also included a note of gratitude from Mansi. “I’m incredibly grateful to Frank [Valentini, the show’s executive producer], ABC, and our writers for the care they gave Kristina,” she said. “It’s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride. I’ve loved being a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl in such a phenomenal family.”

He concluded: “I don’t know if we’ll ever put it all together, but he’s going to struggle to continue to do that. That’s just as far as we have thought. The biggest improvement we made this year — in my opinion — was getting people in the same room. So if not for Monica, Kayce never would have been in that position and may not have found this path.”

He concluded: “We really wanted to be respectful of the way that we said goodbye to her. I also didn’t want to step on the ending of Yellowstone, because what they had was a beautiful ending. Unfortunately, real life intervened.”

Asbille, 34, has not yet broken her silence on Monica’s onscreen death. She did grant access for her likeness to be used on the show, which allowed Marshals to show photos of the fictional character on screen.

Dutton Ranch will introduce some new characters played by Annette Bening and Ed Harris. Other newcomers include Jai Courtney, Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba and J. R. Villarreal.

“My arc is heading in a direction that I am not going to be specific about but she starts off the season and ends it a completely different person,” Lind told Us. “There’s things that happen that change her life forever.”

“I think it makes a lot of sense,” she replied. “Loved loved loved Allie and Dean’s JLo/maverick dance and them having this wild tension even before their hookup (in the book the hookup happens right off the bat).”

“I would hope that book fans go into it with an open mind. The fandom for this series tends to be positive. They love these characters and they love this world,” Kennedy told Us Weekly about onscreen shakeups. “I just came back from a book tour and literally every stop it was just constant excitement.”

Kennedy was hopeful about the reaction from viewers.

“I do think that they’re going to love it,” she noted. “I hope that they’re going to go into it knowing some things have to change in an adaptation. But they’re going to get the same feeling that they got when they read the book.”

In addition to Bright, Cameli, Cipriano, Brooks and Kalyn, the show introduces characters played by Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston.

“I wasn’t involved in the day-to-day process. I wasn’t in the writers’ room, and I didn’t have casting decisions,” Kennedy explained to Us. “I did get to read the scripts as they were being written, and I was able to, like, offer feedback. And sometimes we get on a Zoom with the showrunners because they did appreciate the author’s input.”

She continued: “They would say, ‘What are nonnegotiable scenes or things that you know have to be in there?’ They were collaborative in that sense. But in terms of final decisions, that was completely up to the creative team there.”

Despite providing feedback, Kennedy told Us she didn’t have “specific” requests about what should make it on screen.

“I went into this knowing they’re going to have to change certain things. Every adaptation has that — especially because the book is written in first-person, so you’re getting their thoughts a lot. They have to find different ways to show it,” Kennedy shared. “I just honestly wanted to see the relationship dynamics be captured. … I want to see the relationships. I want to see the characters in whatever situations they’re in.”

When viewers were introduced to Kayce (Luke Grimes) on Yellowstone, the member of the Dutton family worked as a livestock agent and commissioner for the Montana Livestock Association, which allowed him to protect cattle and enforce ranching laws. He also had a background as a former U.S. Navy SEAL.

Kayce’s former career came in handy when Marshals, which premiered in March 2026, followed his decision to become a marshal. The CBS show follows Kayce as he leaves “ranching life behind to join an elite unit” of the U.S. Marshals while “combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

Grimes, 42, previously weighed in on the concept for Marshals before its premiere.

“I’m my own worst critic,” Grimes told Entertainment Weekly in February 2026. “I was like, ‘If you take a poll of who people want to have a spinoff, I don’t know if Kayce would be top of that list. I think there’s other characters that they would rather see.'”

Grimes used that as motivation, adding, “So there was a fire under me. Like, it has to be good. If it’s not good, I’d rather not do it. We tried really hard to make sure that any of the original Yellowstone fans would have something to grasp onto.”

He continued: “But if you’d never seen Yellowstone, we wanted this show to make sense on its own as well. I think we accomplished that as much as we possibly could.”

“They started bringing it up when we were filming the last few episodes of the original series. There started to be some offers for a spinoff, and I hadn’t gotten one yet, and I was like, ‘I guess that’s it for me,'” Grimes recalled. “And then I got a call and it was like, ‘It’ll be CBS primetime, and it’ll be more of a procedural format.'”

During season 1, which premiered in May, Allie (Mika Abdalla) formed a connection with a mystery man who she then hooked up with amid a casual relationship with Dean (Stephen Kalyn).

Evans didn’t rule out meeting Summer — and exploring her past with Hunter.

“I think anything’s possible. I think the way that we’re doing this show, Louisa has very cleverly set up these characters to be malleable and to react to their environments,” he added. “There’s a lot of topical, beautiful story shifts that she’s made that translate incredibly well on-screen, and that she’s going to continue to make.”

He continued “I mean, she really knows everything about the future of this story and how she wants it to be told, and I’m so grateful to be a part of that because it is comprehensive. I’ve been in those rooms and seen the boards, and they have the books out, and they’re pulling pages, and it’s really impressive.”

According to Evans, it was always the plan to shake things up with Hunter.

“This was always the setup for Season 2. We knew the plan when we started, and that was where we went,” he shared. “I think we were pretty clear about that from the beginning. We wanted a big climactic ending. We wanted everyone in the same place. I mean, Louisa plans this stuff well in advance. She’s got the next five books down, ready to go.”

Evans expressed excitement at where the show goes from here, saying, “All that stuff with Allie, that vulnerability and that trauma, honestly, because he does have a bit of a sad history and letting those walls break down a bit.”

He concluded: “Seeing him just drop the BS and get into a place of realness, just kind of shedding all of these structural walls that he’s built up because of his family and what’s expected of him, and all of that stuff, and just kind of finding who he is.”

Throughout the hour-long episode, Colbert discussed local issues and was joined by celebrity guests, including Jack White as his musical director and actor Jeff Daniels. Eminem and Steve Buscemi filmed cameos that aired during the special Only in Monroe episode.

He also spoke with Byron Allen, whose show Comics Unleashed will replace The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on CBS.

“Byron, have a great show,” he told Allen, 65. “You’re the best, buddy.”

The unusual Only in Monroe episode ended with Colbert, Daniels, 71, and White, 50, burning down the show’s set after receiving approval from “the fire marshal” (a.k.a. Marshall “Eminem” Mathers, 53.)

“That’s a wrap,” Colbert announced. “Thanks for watching Only in Monroe and if you watched any of my other talk shows over the years, thanks for watching those too!”

He then teased, “Until we see each other again, I’ll be only here, only on Only in Monroe!”

CBS announced in July 2025 that it was cancelling The Late Show With Stephen Colbert despite the series’ late night ratings dominance.

Colbert wrapped up The Late Show with a star-studded final week of episodes featuring guest appearances from Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Reynolds and Paul McCartney, among others. He jabbed at CBS during Thursday’s finale by having his band play expensive licensed music and ending with a CGI-animated scene of the Ed Sullivan Theater being sucked into a glowing green vortex.

“What would it take to get me to do another to do more Kingdom? It would take a phone call,” Lauria, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly. “That’s it.”

Lauria said he would reunite with his costars “in a heartbeat” — but there is one condition.

“Give me six weeks to try and get the six-pack back,” he joked. “I’m older than when we started. That was in 2014 so 12 years have gone by. But as far as I can tell, everybody’s still in shape and everybody is still very active. We could pull it off in a heartbeat.”

Kingdom, which aired from 2014 to 2017, was a gritty drama that followed a retired MMA fighter trying to keep his mixed martial arts gym afloat while managing the volatile lives and personal demons of his sons and his fighters. In addition to Lauria, the series starred Frank Grillo, Kiele Sanchez, Jonathan Tucker, Nick Jonas and Joanna Going.

“I ran into Byron Balasco, who’s now part of the CBS and Paramount family because he’s writing on one of the NCIS shows,” Lauria told Us about the reunion with Kingdom’s coshowrunner. “We kind of mumbled about a reunion and it doesn’t seem like anybody’s against it. It was one of the highlights of all of our careers — in terms of the experience we had.”

Lauria isn’t the only one with a passion for the show’s return. Grillo, 60, recently told Us he was just as ready to come back.

“Byron Balasco and Jonathan Tucker and I were just on a three-way [call],” Grillo shared in September 2025 “We were trying to figure out how we could possibly — I’m not kidding — put it together.”

The trio are looking to “come up with some ideas” and “get the band back together” to “see if we could finish an eight-episode run,” Grillo teased. “We actually talked about that.”

He continued: “But then there’s a more human side to all of this. It matters because he’d seen Mickey time and time again take a human approach with people and have it bear fruit. That contributed in large part to Boone confronting his feelings about Mickey — only to get shot down.”

Lauria is holding out hope that the audience will learn even more about Boone in season 2, saying, “He kept a lot of things close to the vest — including a secret wife. I’d love to get into more about who this dude is.”

Before Off Campus found their Dean, Kalyn actually auditioned to play the role of Logan.

“And I thought it was good. But then, it’s interesting how the casting process works because I see why I didn’t get the part,” he told Bustle in May 2026. “And then Dean came along, and then I was like, OK, that seems more up my alley.”

“I originally auditioned for Hannah,” Abdalla, who now plays Allie, exclusively told Us. “I just knew that wasn’t right. Everybody knew that wasn’t right. Then, when I heard they wanted to bring me back for Allie and I finally got a hold of the scripts, I was like, ‘This is right.’ Everything just fell into place in a really good way.”

A day after the final episode of the late night talk show aired, Trump, 79, responded to its end by sharing an AI-generated video of himself and Colbert, 62, via X.

In the video shared on Friday, May 22, an AI version of Trump approached an AI version of Colbert on The Late Show and grabbed him by the shoulders. Trump then picked up Colbert and threw him in an on-stage dumpster. Trump closed the dumpster’s lid with Colbert inside, then smirked and began dancing.

The AI footage was also posted via the official White House account on X, with the accompanying caption reading, “Bye-bye 👋.”

“Stephen Colbert’s firing from CBS was the ‘Beginning of the End’ for untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and very poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts,” Trump wrote. “Others, of even less talent, to soon follow. May they all Rest in Peace!”

Colbert’s final episode aired on Thursday, May 21, almost a year after CBS announced in July 2025 that the show was being axed.

The move caused instant backlash from viewers at the time due to its popularity and the perception that the decision may have been due to Colbert’s political comments.

Network executives then released a statement defending their call to pull the plug on the show. The statement insisted the decision was not “related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount” and claimed it was  due to financial reasons.

Critics raised eyebrows over the timing of the show’s cancellation, which came after an episode in which Colbert spoke out about Paramount, CBS’ parent company, settling what he called “a nuisance lawsuit” brought by Trump. In his lawsuit, the president alleged that 60 Minutes had unfairly edited an interview of Kamala Harris.

During the season 1 finale on Friday, May 22, Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green) started the day off worried about meeting her biological father. It got worse when she found out that her boyfriend, Brian (Ryan Broussard), was thinking of taking a job in another state and then she got shot.

Lena pulled through — but suffered nerve damage that kept her briefly wheelchair bound — before gathering for a family dinner. She was waiting for Brian to arrive when the audience saw his car get hit intentionally by someone. That knocked Brian out just before his car ended up in the ocean.

“There is a little bit of a time jump when we come into the season, which gets us past the medical leave that Lena faces to heal from her injuries,” showrunner Brandon Sonnier exclusively told Us Weekly in a joint interview with executive producer Brandon Margolis. “It also pushes us a little bit further down the road of who was driving the car, what was what was the inciting incident for that event and we unravel what happened right after.”

He continued: “That does become a driving force in Lena and Danny’s life — and the rest of the Reagans and the Silvers. They want to get to the bottom of what that was all about and who was behind it. We do find that person at some point and we do unravel that there is something larger going on and it is a driving force to the season.”

Elsewhere in the finale, Will Hochman reprised his role as Danny’s (Donnie Wahlberg) nephew while Danny’s girlfriend, Baez (Marisa Ramirez), returned and the couple reconciled — and discussed moving in together — just before season 1 came to an end.

Looking ahead at season 2, Sonnier teased what is still to come, adding, “There’s certainly more Boston that we want to explore. There’s certainly exploring the relationships in this new found family that we’ve built in different ways. What crossover relationships are there now that we’ve established the families and where everyone is and what can we do to build even greater relationship dynamics between the players?”

Is Ryan Broussard Leaving the Show After Brian Was Seemingly Killed?

While Margolis and Sonnier wouldn’t confirm or deny Brian’s future on the show, they referred to the actor as a “lovely” addition to the cast.

“We’ve enjoyed working with him this season. If the opportunity for him to be on season 2 is there, we would jump at it,” Margolis noted. “But it’s called a cliffhanger for a reason. You got to come back — that’s what you got to tune in for.”

Margolis noted that the numerous roadblocks thrown Lena’s way would be addressed in season 2, adding, “We love opportunities for her and Danny to grow closer as a result. So that’s what we’re looking forward to in season 2 is resolving the aftermath of the accident. It is about finding out who was behind the wheel of that car and getting justice for Rodgers.”

How Did the Will Hochman Cameo Happen?

Blue Bloods fans got a surprise when Hochman’s character Joe made an appearance. Margolis told Us, “There’s invitations to the whole Reagan clan” to return, but Hochman’s appearance came to be after Wahlberg found out his former costar was already in town filming another project.

“It made sense — honestly — for the story we were telling about discovering new family members and what it meant for Joe Hill and how he learned about the Reagans later in his life,” he continued. “It was a nice parallel to what Lena was going through. It was fate that he was in town when we were telling this story. It made all the sense in the world to get him there and we would love to have him back.”

What About Other ‘Blue Bloods’ Alums?

The screenwriting duo made it clear that anyone and everyone from the OG series was welcome. When asked specifically about Tom Selleck, Sonnier clarified that the “story has got to be right” for Frank to come back.

“It’s a big move and we want to make sure we’re telling the right story,” he noted. “It has to be the right story for Frank and that it’s the right story for Danny and for Sean. When that time is right, maybe we [already] know and maybe we don’t.”

Regardless, the goal is to have all the Reagans in and out of Boston Blue.

“It enriches our lives to get to continue their stories,” Margolis added. “So we would love to extend that invitation and have you know new Reagans appear and Reagans who were there last year to come back.”

What Does the Finale Mean for Danny and Baez?

“We love that relationship and there are ups and downs to any relationship. There are certainly struggles in trying to figure out how things are going to work,” Sonnier told Us about Danny and Baez getting back together. “Two adults who are coming together and who now live in different cities have peaks and valleys in that relationship. There is always something that we wanted to explore — knowing that at the end of the day this is a relationship that we do truly love.”

Sonnier poked fun at the public “outcry,” adding, “It was that much sweeter when we got to bring her back in and have her be that shining light that says, ‘Everything’s going to be OK.’ Ending on that note of how they’re gonna push through this and this relationship is for real.”

As for what that invitation for Baez to move to Boston means for Ramirez’s appearances in season 2?

“All we can say is Baez will be back in season 2,” Margolis teased. “That’s literally all we can tell you. We enjoy Marisa and the two of them as a couple light up the screen. We love getting to tell stories about those two and we’re always looking for opportunities to do that.”

Could There Be a Boston Blue Spinoff?

The pair didn’t rule it out when Us suggested a medical drama set in the same area, saying, “If the opportunity presents itself and there’s the right story to tell .. absolutely. We love it.”
