Kelsey Grammer holds the distinguished record of receiving an Emmy nomination for his portrayals of Dr. Frasier Crane on three different television series.
Born Feb. 21, 1955 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Grammer suffered several tragic losses during his youth, including the murder of his father and sister. After the passing of his grandfather, Grammer found comfort in Shakespearean theater, which drew him to The Juilliard Schoolin NYC.
After a few television appearances in the early '80s, Grammer landed his most notable role as Frasier on the hit NBC comedy Cheers. Not intended to be a recurring role, Grammer's character gained popularity throughout the show's run, which inspired a spin-off. Frasier ran for 11 seasons and won Grammer three Emmy awards.
Aside from television success, Grammer has lent his voice talents to Toy Story 2 and also starred on Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles.
The actor has married four times and has three children. In February 2011, he married girlfriend Kayte Walsh after a messy divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Donatacci.
