Digital Content Producer Carrie McCabe is a Connecticut-based writer, podcaster and filmmaker. When she’s not covering the latest trends for Us Weekly’s Shop With Us section, she spends her time co-hosting a true crime/paranormal/history podcast, writing novels and screenplays, making sweet Spotify playlists and hanging out with her awesome husband and goofy dachshund, Poe.

Carrie started writing for Us Weekly in summer 2023, gathering the biggest viral trends, celebrity favorites and sale news for readers to enjoy. She’s a bit of a hoarder when it comes to beauty, books and random knick-knacks, so this job was a perfect fit—researching, testing and reviewing products is really a dream come true! Carrie has previously contributed shopping and celebrity content to Yahoo, SheFinds and other online platforms.

Education

Carrie has a BFA in Film from LIU Post, where she graduated magna cum laude with Honors in 2012. She was the first undergraduate in her university’s history to write and direct a feature film, which went on to win numerous awards and screen at film festivals across the country. Carrie was also selected as the most recent graduate to be added to the list of “Notable Alumni” from Long Island University.

Work history

Carrie has an extensive history in film, screenwriting and creative writing, but has also worked professionally as a copywriter, developing content for event marketing through 2022. She has been writing in the E-commerce space for several years, and has covered celebrity and brand news across multiple online platforms. Carrie also co-founded a film production company and has been co-hosting, writing and producing a cult-favorite podcast with her husband since fall 2020. Oh, and she’s working on a novel—because of course she is.
