BIO
Born January 12, 1993, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, Zayn Malik is one-fifth of the European boy band One Direction.
Simon Cowell created One Direction during The X Factor in 2010; the other band members are Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The group finished in third place but signed a recording contract with Cowell's Syco Records.
The band experienced worldwide success with the 2011 release of their debut album, Up All Night. They released their sophomore effort, Take Me Home, the following year.
Malik is dating Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.
