Born June 19, 1978, in New Jersey, the the butt-kicking star of Avatar and Star Trek didn't have a traditional upbringing. Her family moved from Queens, New York to the Dominican Republic when she was 10-years-old.
Seven years later, she returned to the Big Apple to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer, which led to her first film role in Center Stage.
Two years later, Saldana was cast opposite Britney Spears in Crossroads and Nick Cannon in Drumline, catapulting her into the limelight.
Her innate talent caught the attention of some of Hollywood's biggest directors, and by 2009, the fashion-forward beauty had become a household name, starring in two of the year's most successful blockbusters.
Saldana is engaged to her boyfriend of 10 years, Keith Britton.
