Ahead of the season 3 finale, Maddy (Alexa Demie) had to ask Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) for money after Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) found out that Nate (Jacob Elordi) only had 72 hours to live. Alamo made Maddy put on a bathing suit and get in the hot tub while complimenting her.

Alamo ultimately agreed to help Maddy get the $1 million needed to save Nate and the scene cut off. Viewers, meanwhile, wondered if the scene hinted at Maddy having to sleep with Alamo to secure the deal but that wasn’t clarified.

Later in the episode, Alamo made sure to tell Maddy that he’s going to get 20 percent of her future earnings. This revelation was made worse when they found Nate’s body and Maddy realized her deal was for nothing.

“That was a cool way to go. Nate was someone who has made so many mistakes and made so many dark choices,” Elordi explained in a segment that aired after the Sunday, May 24, episode. “It’s cool to see it all come to what it’s come to.”

Elordi recalled having to film in a coffin, adding, “My shoulders were touching the side and they couldn’t move my arms. Then they would drill the lid on it and it would get dark. 
It was really nice, actually. It was quite peaceful in there.”

The stunt team, meanwhile, stressed how important it was to make sure the actor had oxygen. They praised Elordi for agreeing to spend “minimal time in the coffin.” Viewers may be surprised, however, to find out that creator Sam Levinson “wanted to shoot it with a real snake” so a rattlesnake and a boa constrictor were both featured on screen.

“Snakes were rattling, which was really alarming when you are locked in a box,” Elordi noted. “They had a boa constrictor that they put a fake rattler on the end of it.”

He continued: “He was super cute. He was really cuddly. So he kind of just sidled up next to me and it was nice. But he was really sleepy. He was a sleepy snake. I had to kind of nudge him to get him to come up. And that was it.”

Mansi, who joined the long-running soap in 2023, added that new projects required her “full attention” as did the need to support her husband, Matt McInnis. “With my husband currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles,” she said.

The interview also included a note of gratitude from Mansi. “I’m incredibly grateful to Frank [Valentini, the show’s executive producer], ABC, and our writers for the care they gave Kristina,” she said. “It’s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride. He concluded: “I don’t know if we’ll ever put it all together, but he’s going to struggle to continue to do that. That’s just as far as we have thought. The biggest improvement we made this year — in my opinion — was getting people in the same room. During the penultimate episode on Sunday, May 24, Cassie wasn’t able to get her OnlyFans account back. After they had sex, Cassie secretly uploaded a photo of them together to his social media account in order to drive business to her sex work.

“Some of these scenes we only lit with these ring lights that she would use. So if not for Monica, Kayce never would have been in that position and may not have found this path.”

He concluded: “We really wanted to be respectful of the way that we said goodbye to her. I also didn’t want to step on the ending of Yellowstone, because what they had was a beautiful ending. Unfortunately, real life intervened.”

Asbille, 34, has not yet broken her silence on Monica’s onscreen death. She did grant access for her likeness to be used on the show, which allowed Marshals to show photos of the fictional character on screen.

On Wednesday, May 20, Busch reportedly “became unresponsive” while testing in a Chevrolet racing simulator at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, according to the Associated Press. News broke the following day that Busch had been hospitalized.

“Kyle has experienced a severe illness resulting in hospitalization,” the Busch family said in a statement shared on Thursday, May 21. “He is currently undergoing treatment and will not compete in any of his scheduled activities this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. We ask for understanding and privacy as our family navigates this situation.”

Hours before his death, a 911 call obtained by TMZ revealed that Busch was at a training facility in North Carolina when he suffered a medical emergency.

“I’ve got an individual that’s shortness of breath, very hot. [He] thinks he’s going to pass out, and he’s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood,” the caller said, noting that Busch was still “awake” and conscious. “He’s on the bathroom floor right now.”

NASCAR confirmed on Thursday that the athlete died at age 41. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Busch, and their two children.

“We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers,” NASCAR said in a statement via X. “We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.”

On Saturday, May 23, a rep for the family confirmed to NBC News that Kyle died of pneumonia that progressed “into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications.”

Kyle’s final race was the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 17 at Dover International Speedway. He finished in 17th place. “You never know when the last one is,” he told reporters after the race.

He was set to race at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, but pulled out due to his hospitalization.

“Make it to the waiting and make it to the end of all of this. I’m excited to put it all behind me,” Miller, 30, said while speaking with People on the amFAR red carpet on Saturday, May 23. “The reunion was quite the day, but we are on to bigger and better and, you know, we can say goodbye to certain things.”

She continued, “I think it will definitely get some clarity. I think it was very cathartic. It’s one of those situations that’s unfortunate but you know, I’m so excited to move on from this. You can’t take everyone with you. It’s nice to be able to go into this next chapter of my life and have clarity on who is supposed to be there and who is not.”

When the reporter asked if she and Batula, 34, are “dunzo,” Miller replied, “Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I wouldn’t do this to my worst enemy.”

At a time when the city was on the financial brink and with disco fever on its way out, hip-hop began its rise to the mainstream, and orphaned teenager  Zeke Figuero (Justice Smith) sets out on his dream to be a successful musician. Director Baz Luhrmann (Elvis, Romeo + Juliet) teams up with top-notch collaborators like MC Nas, Grandmaster Flash and playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis in this compelling, music-infused drama.

The Get Down is a bold and stylish series that was unfairly axed by Netflix after only one season, but its sole season is a true work of art. Smith leads the show confidently alongside an ensemble of terrific actors such as Jaden Smith, Shameik Moore, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. With Luhrmann’s signature maximalist touch, the show leans hard into spectacle, with impressive visuals, sweeping emotions and a killer soundtrack.

‘Brand New Cherry Flavor’ (2021)

In 1990s Hollywood, aspiring filmmaker Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar) arrives in the movie capital of the world to meet a high-powered producer (Eric Lange) who was impressed by her short horror feature. After signing a contract that guarantees Lisa the autonomy to direct a feature film, she is dropped from the project when she rejects the producer’s unwanted sexual advances. To get revenge on him (and get her movie back on track), Lisa makes a deal with a witch named Jennifer (Catherine Keener) — but every wish that seems too good to be true always is, and Lisa is pulled into a surreal nightmare.

This series from Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca is strange, unusual and totally goes for broke. Brand New Cherry Flavor is confidently led by Salazar in a show that isn’t afraid to go to some dark (and disgusting) places, diving headfirst into the uncanny by blending horror with drama and a satire of the film industry. Lange and Keener round out a terrific cast that also features Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Patrick Fischler (Mulholland Drive) and Gabriel LaBelle (The Fabelmans). The show is not for everyone, but deranged in all the best ways — just be willing to get on its wavelength.

‘Netflix Presents: ‘The Characters’ (2016)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 100 percent

Netflix Presents: The Characters is a playground for some of the best and most offbeat voices in modern comedy, including Kate Berlant, John Early, Tim Robinson and Paul W. Downs. Fans of Robinson’s series I Think You Should Leave and Detroiters will certainly find a lot to love here, but what makes the show so great is that each episode is in the control of one particular comedic voice, with every sketch tailored to their sensibilities. As a result, you get something totally different each time, and the series features multiple different kinds of comedy: from cringe realism to full-on absurdist scenarios.

Though not every sketch in The Characters lands, when they land, they really land, such as Natasha Rothwell‘s “Chiggers,” Early’s “The Toast” and Robinson’s “Sammy Paradise,” all three of which made it onto Vulture’s 2019 list of “Best Comedy Sketches of the Decade.” The show stands as a terrific showcase of some of the best comedic voices of the past ten years, who were at that point still fairly early in their careers. Still, The Characters is far too overlooked, and if you consider yourself a comedy fan, then you’d do well to check it out.

Yellowstone, which premiered in 2018, introduced viewers to the fictional Dutton family. The Paramount Network show came to an end in 2024, expanding its universe with Luke Grimes‘ CBS show Marshals and Dutton Ranch, which premiered in May.

“As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together — far from the ghosts of Yellowstone — they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire,” the show’s synopsis reads. “In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”

Dutton Ranch will introduce some new characters played by Annette Bening and Ed Harris. Other newcomers include Jai Courtney, Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba and J. R. Villarreal.

“My arc is heading in a direction that I am not going to be specific about but she starts off the season and ends it a completely different person,” Lind told Us. “There’s things that happen that change her life forever.”

5. ‘Gettysburg’ (1993)

Gettysburg was almost released as a TNT original miniseries, at least until Ted Turner realized that it had even bigger potential as a film. That’s why this movie has a runtime of over four hours. But Turner ultimately made the right call, and Gettysburg is one of the definitive Civil War movies.

The perspective largely takes place from the Confederate side, as General Robert E. Lee (Martin Sheen), Lieutenant General James Longstreet (Tom Berenger) and Major General George Pickett (Stephen Lang) prepare to face the Union army led by Colonel Joshua Chamberlain (Jeff Daniels) and Brigadier General John Buford (Sam Elliott). Their collision at the Battle of Gettysburg proves to be one of the bloodiest engagements of the entire war.

4. ‘Casualties of War’ (1989)

Michael J. Fox delivered a powerhouse performance in Casualties of War, which is based on a real incident that took place during the Vietnam War. Following several setbacks in the field of battle, Private First Class Max Eriksson (Fox) is alarmed when his superior officer, Sergeant Tony Meserve (Sean Penn), orders the kidnapping of a local girl, Tran Thi Oanh (Thuy Thu Le), with the intent to sexually assault her.

Eriksson stands alone in opposition to the plan and his pleas to his fellow soldiers fall on deaf ears. Even Eriksson’s superiors don’t seem to be interested in correcting this injustice. But if they won’t act, then Eriksson will take matters into his own hands.

3. ‘Stalag 17’ (1953)

William Holden won a well-deserved Best Actor Oscar for his performance as Sergeant J.J. Sefton in the World War II POW drama Stalag 17. During the war, Sefton is a prisoner among hundreds of other U.S. airmen when an escape attempt is thwarted by their German guards. After the men involved are executed, Sefton finds himself accused of collaborating with the Germans and ratting out his fellow countrymen.

There are good reasons to suspect Sefton, since he’s figured out how to make life easy for himself inside the prison camp by bribing guards and running illicit activities. A newly arrived officer, Lieutenant James Dunbar (Don Taylor), is also extremely hostile towards Sefton, who is running out of friends fast. If Sefton can’t identify the real traitor in their ranks, he just might be murdered by his own side.

3 Great War Movies to Watch on Memorial Day

2. ‘Three Kings’ (1999)

Three Kings takes place in the aftermath of the first Gulf War, with George Clooney in the lead as Major Archie Gates. Archie and his pals, Sergeant First Class Troy Barlow (Mark Wahlberg), Staff Sergeant Chief Elgin (Ice Cube) and Private First Class Conrad Vig (Spike Jonze) are bored out of their minds until they discover a map that may lead to millions of gold bars stolen from Kuwait by Iraqi forces.

The men recognize that this is their best chance to get rich from their time in the Gulf, and they go AWOL to retrieve the fortune for themselves. They soon find themselves in the middle of a conflict between Iraqi rebels and the soldiers loyal to the regime. Archie and his guys can either escape with their gold or their souls, but not both. They need to choose what’s really important to them, and how far they’re willing to go for it.

1. ‘The Great Escape’ (1963)

In World War II, there really was a mass escape attempt from a German POW camp that inspired The Great Escape. However, the film used mostly American characters, while the real escapees were almost all British soldiers. Regardless, The Great Escape is one of the most entertaining war flicks ever made.

The cast list for this film reads like an A-list roundup of actors from the ’60s, including Steve McQueen, James Garner, Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough, James Donald, Donald Pleasence and James Coburn. With so many great performers to keep an eye on, it’s almost impossible to predict which ones will actually see their escape through to its completion.

Kennedy took to TikTok on Saturday, May 23, to answer a question, which read, “From all of the changes that happened in the TV show, which one was your favorite and why?”

In response, Kennedy said she loved that “Justin is a musician” instead of an athlete.

“I think it makes a lot of sense,” she replied. “Loved loved loved Allie and Dean’s JLo/maverick dance and them having this wild tension even before their hookup (in the book the hookup happens right off the bat).”

Based on the Off-Campus book series by Kennedy, the show follows an elite ice hockey team — and the women in their lives. Season 1 focused on Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett (Belmont Cameli), but despite Logan’s (Antonio Cipriano) story being next based on the books, Dean (Stephen Kalyn) could come first and then Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks) last.

“I would hope that book fans go into it with an open mind. The fandom for this series tends to be positive. They love these characters and they love this world,” Kennedy told Us Weekly about onscreen shakeups. “I just came back from a book tour and literally every stop it was just constant excitement.”

Kennedy was hopeful about the reaction from viewers.

“I do think that they’re going to love it,” she noted. “I hope that they’re going to go into it knowing some things have to change in an adaptation. But they’re going to get the same feeling that they got when they read the book.”

In addition to Bright, Cameli, Cipriano, Brooks and Kalyn, the show introduces characters played by Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston.

“I wasn’t involved in the day-to-day process. I wasn’t in the writers’ room, and I didn’t have casting decisions,” Kennedy explained to Us. “I did get to read the scripts as they were being written, and I was able to, like, offer feedback. And sometimes we get on a Zoom with the showrunners because they did appreciate the author’s input.”

She continued: “They would say, ‘What are nonnegotiable scenes or things that you know have to be in there?’ They were collaborative in that sense. But in terms of final decisions, that was completely up to the creative team there.”

Despite providing feedback, Kennedy told Us she didn’t have “specific” requests about what should make it on screen.

“I went into this knowing they’re going to have to change certain things. Every adaptation has that — especially because the book is written in first-person, so you’re getting their thoughts a lot. They have to find different ways to show it,” Kennedy shared. “I just honestly wanted to see the relationship dynamics be captured. … I want to see the relationships. I want to see the characters in whatever situations they’re in.”

When viewers were introduced to Kayce (Luke Grimes) on Yellowstone, the member of the Dutton family worked as a livestock agent and commissioner for the Montana Livestock Association, which allowed him to protect cattle and enforce ranching laws. He also had a background as a former U.S. Navy SEAL.

Kayce’s former career came in handy when Marshals, which premiered in March 2026, followed his decision to become a marshal. The CBS show follows Kayce as he leaves “ranching life behind to join an elite unit” of the U.S. Marshals while “combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

So far, Kayce has helped apprehend threats to society — but what exactly is part of his job description as a U.S Marshal? The role involves “apprehending federal fugitives, protecting federal judges, transporting federal prisoners, operating the Witness Security Program and managing seized assets from criminal enterprises,” according to their official website.

Grimes, 42, previously weighed in on the concept for Marshals before its premiere.

“I’m my own worst critic,” Grimes told Entertainment Weekly in February 2026. “I was like, ‘If you take a poll of who people want to have a spinoff, I don’t know if Kayce would be top of that list. I think there’s other characters that they would rather see.'”

Grimes used that as motivation, adding, “So there was a fire under me. Like, it has to be good. If it’s not good, I’d rather not do it. We tried really hard to make sure that any of the original Yellowstone fans would have something to grasp onto.”

He continued: “But if you’d never seen Yellowstone, we wanted this show to make sense on its own as well. I think we accomplished that as much as we possibly could.”

Despite getting the chance to lead his own show, Grimes was unsure what the story would be.

“They started bringing it up when we were filming the last few episodes of the original series. There started to be some offers for a spinoff, and I hadn’t gotten one yet, and I was like, ‘I guess that’s it for me,'” Grimes recalled. “And then I got a call and it was like, ‘It’ll be CBS primetime, and it’ll be more of a procedural format.'”

Alex, 45, quickly denied there was any validity to these latest rumors, dismissing them as “not true” via his Instagram Story on Friday.

Dorit, 49, is currently in the middle of a messy divorce with husband PK Kemsley, with the couple battling this month over allegations that she spent more than $1 million — calculated to be 80 percent of her available funds — on luxury items over the past year.

Dorit reacted to PK’s allegations during an Extra interview on Thursday, May 21, promising that she would “have a response to it” in court soon.

“When you’re in litigation, you have to sort of follow the legal process,” she explained. “I think there will be answers to everything. When you hear one version or one narrative, there’s always another side.”

Dorit added, “Do I love fashion? Yes. Do I spend a lot of money on clothes, expensive clothes, designer clothes? Yes. It is my choice. It is also my money. It’s my money that I earn, that I work for. Not his money. However, once PK and I can finish and have an agreement, what I choose to spend my money on and what he chooses to spend his money on, it’s our own choice.”

“I think, right now because we’re sort of intertwined, there’s a sort of feeling like you can have a say about what the other is spending,” she concluded.

Dorit’s extravagant spending was a major point of contention during RHOBH season 15, as Kyle openly questioned whether her frenemy was acting out because of her marital issues. Kyle warned at the recent reunion that it was “a lot of money [Dorit] is spending” during shopping sprees on RHOBH.

“Being judged by you [hurts], having you go and speak to the girls about, ‘That’s a lot of money she’s spending.’ Kyle, especially from you of all people,” Dorit vented.
