Aretha Franklin wants a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T as she recovers from her December health scare.
In her third interview with Jet since first being hospitalized, the 68-year-old soul singer dodges questions about her reported battle with pancreatic cancer.

"I am not going to even deal with that," she says flatly. "I don't have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved."

"I am not one to do a lot of talking about my personal health or business. Not too much, not too much," she adds. "There are a lot of people who will talk about anything, as long as there is somebody listening. But I am not one of those people. That's not Aretha."
Details of her condition aside, the Grammy-winning singer wants her fans to know she is "feeling great and coming along."

"I want to thank my fans and friends and supporters who have prayed for me and sent me beautiful cards and flowers," Franklin says. "Please continue to respect my privacy as I continue to recover."

Tell Us What You Think
6Please tell Aretha we love her. We have for many, many, many years. She's our songbird and national treasure, truly an American and World icon. Since she is such, it's hard not to mind her business. We care. We're concerned. Since the time she stepped on stage back in the 50's or 60s she has been a household name. Thanks not only to the media, but her own publicists. It's hard not to mind her busiiness but we will give her time to heal and time to know that however long it takes to do that, we care, we love her and want her to heal and feel better. In the meantime Aretha please read the upcoming book Sojourn to Honduras Sojourn to Healing. It encourages all of us in the Black community specifically, but also other races to look squarely at diet and disease and realize great changes are needed. Sojourn to Honduras Sojourn to Healing tells us that moderation is key with most things, especially soul food. We love it, but moderation is key with our beloved soul food. Singer Tina Turner knows that. Ask her about the changes she's made in her diet. We love and care Ree Ree. Get better. http://eyehealthguide.net/eye-floaters.html
