Ponytails have become a go-to hairstyle for celebs who want to wear their hair up on the red carpet without looking too formal or "done."

Check out Erin Andrews, 33, who hit the ESPYs in L.A. on Wednesday with a wavy side ponytail. The bedhead texture and height around the crown give it a flirty look that's perfect for an award show that honors the biggest names in sports.

Here, hairstylist Charles Baker Strahan tells Us Weekly how to get the look he created for the ESPN host:

1. Mist clean, dry hair with a light gel (he used Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel) and wrap pieces of hair from the lower left side of your head around a 1-inch curling iron, turning them slightly to the right, then pull everything into a ponytail, leaving some soft pieces around the face.
2. Repeat on the right side of your head, gathering the curled pieces into a second ponytail, then bring both ponytails together.
3. Rough up your hair with your hands to loosen the wave and create a fuller look.
