Despite her sophisticated appearance, the actress didn't go lighter in an attempt to shed her innocent image like some other former child stars have done.

"She went blonde for a [movie] role," Scott Peper, senior colorist at the Oscar Blandi Salon in NYC tells UsMagazine.com of the transformation, which took nearly four hours. "Plus, the color is a soft pale shade, not a bright gold shade like Lindsay Lohan. It looks natural and age-appropriate."

So what was the star's reaction to the dramatic change? "She loves it" says Peper.

What do they mean "former" child star? She's still a child!

She is so pretty! Its sad that people who make negative comments on her aren't "good looking" themselves. And for those of you who are clueless, she is pretty much grown up. She is a teenager now. People like you need to check themselves cause you are the reason most celebs go into rehab at a young age.

Thank you, Jeff, for coming in and reminding "us women" of what's really important. We'll be back to making men sandwiches in just a moment.

This is such a stupid article and the "all grown up" is just icing on the stupid. We largely remember Breslin from films when she was 6-10 (and mostly 6 iirc) years old. There is a lot of physical development that occurs from that period and then from 12-15. This isn't "shocking" or "mature" (esp. in the way they're using mature). It's called human development. And makeup. And a lot of bright lights being flashed in someone's makeuppied face. Oh, and there is no "all grown up" at age 15. Or age 18. Or age 20. Or 21. Or any of those "milestone" ages that have been heavily promoted in our culture. Maturity is as much a state of mind as it is a reflection of physical growth. She isn't going to be any less Abigail Breslin at 26 than she is now.

It's called make-up. She didn't have a nose job. Too me it looks the same.

What is wrong with you women? Why do you care what a 15 year old looks like? You lead that much of a boring life you have to critic a 15 year old? How is 15 "All grown up"? You are the reason these kids grow up to be psychos, get a life of youre own and focus on things that are important and have an effect on you and your kids. By kids i mean ages under 18 because you have a problem understanding what ages are kids and who shouldnt be exploited.

She looks really good! She could've lost weight too if you notice, her cheekbones are thinner.

I too think she had a nose job. The shape of it is entirely different. Even if she lost some of her baby fat or whatever, that doesn't change the shape of your nose because it isn't fat, it is cartilage (a soft bone).

@lucy liu, i agree it looks like she might have had a nose job.

She's pretty but I hope she went back to her natural hair color.. It's gorgeous..

  • April 15, 2011 - 1:13pm Cindy Williams

Cute girl, but her new hair doesn't photograph well if it's supposed to be soft and pale. Looks very brassy and poorly done.

wow children are getting sexier these days!

  • April 15, 2011 - 12:55pm Cristina Hernandez

I think she just lost some baby weight.

  • April 15, 2011 - 11:59am Lucy Liu

Her nose looks different too ...
