Beauty Trend Watch: Swept Away

After a couple of months of coveting super-long locks, I couldn’t contain my envy when I spied this shot of Reese Witherspoon at the recent Avon Foundation Gala. Her mid-length hair looks every bit as sexy as the waist-sweeping manes that made news all summer, but the best part of this look are those side-swept bangs. At once youthful and sophisticated, they also make me think of the carefree spirit of Brigitte Bardot.
To get the look, Witherspoon’s hair guru Mark Townsend runs mousse through locks, blow dries sections, then curls just the ends on a medium-sized barrel curling iron. After blow drying bangs with a round brush to add height at the hairline, he flat irons ends for that sexy, piece-y look.
