Suri Cruise, Katie Holmes Wear High Heels in Sand at Beach Bash

Suri Cruise and mom Katie Holmes partook in a great American tradition on Monday, hitting a beach in Malibu, Calif. for producer Joel Silver's annual Memorial Day party.

But Suri, 5, and mama Holmes, 32, didn't exactly run barefoot through the sand and surf. Instead, the fashionable gals walked through the sand in high heels: Suri in strappy gold sandals, Holmes in charcoal kitten heels. Suri paired her kicks with a pink floral skirt and white, long-sleeved top; her actress mother wore denim shorts, a white v-neck, black linen blazer and a straw linen hat.

The stylish twosome weren't the only A-listers kicking off summer at Silver's bash. In addition to the men in the Cruise family (Tom Cruise and his son Connor, 15), Silver's fete was attended by Courteney Cox and estranged hubby David Arquette with daughter Coco, 6; Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale with sons Kingston and Zuma; Barbara Streisand, Sylvester Stallone, Robert Downey Jr, and director Guy Richie, among others.

Who wears heels on a beach ? They are weirdo's . A five year old in heels and it's not the first time. Her legs aren't even fully developed yet !! I feel sorry for that child, in winter without a warm coat !! Mind you the parents were bundled up. Very, very strange parents.
Kate spends a great deal of time with Suri, and I give her credit. She doesn't do it for PR. I wonder tho, if Suri has some friends her own age to play with. Children do need friends.
If that little girl had broken her ankle running in high heels on a sandy beach. Would her mother have felt bad? That is actually a dangerous thing for a child to do. As a mother, Holmes should have taken that child's ridiculous high heels off and let her run and play with all of the other children and be a child herself. Does this poor child even have any other children to play with in her everyday life. I truly feel sad for Suri.
Have seen additional pictures on another site. Suri looked a little puzzled watching kids playing in shorts and barefoot in the sand. Not sure myself why a dress and high heels for a trip to the beach, but guess it works for them.
I think both of them are cute, not sure why Kate has a jacket and high heels on, but whatever works...
