In her new flick, The Ides of March, Evan Rachel Wood plays the role of a sexy young intern who causes a bit of trouble. But at the George Clooney-directed film's premiere in New York City on Wednesday, the 24-year-old star hit the red carpet in an ensemble that didn't feel very young or sexy.

The actress rocked a brick red leather knee-length Gucci dress adorned with a long bow at the collar. She wore scarlet, pointed-toe Ferragamo heels and topped off her look with a wide-brim hat that channeled the educational cartoon character Carmen Sandiego.

It seems as if the Big Apple has been making the star see red -- Wood sported a bright cherry frock by Preen earlier in the day.
