For spring, designers such as Peter Som and Prabal Gurung went crazy with vibrant colors, showing eye-popping combos of strong shades like shocking pink, kelly green and cobalt blue. Gorgeous on the runway and red carpet (check out Emma Stone and Emmy Rossum pairing hot hues), but hard to pull off in real life. Here, three easy tips for rocking the two-tone trend:
- Break up high-impact colors by adding a plain belt.
- Chose neutral tan or black accessories, which work well on both cool- or warm-tone fabrics.
- Go for hues that are next to each other on the color wheel (think red and pink or blue and purple), or you can experiment with complementary shades like yellow and purple or orange and blue).
