Video: Regis and Kelly Spoof Jason and Melissa's Breakup
Friday – October 30, 2009 – 4:16pmSoap fans took notice of Kelly Ripa for her role on All My Children, but much of America first met the actress when she took over for Kathie Lee Gifford on the Live with Regis and Kathie Lee morning talk show, which then became Live with Regis & Kelly.
Born in 1970 in Stratford, N.J., Ripa got her start in TV on the teen show Dance Party USA, which she parlayed into a role as a goth teen on All My Children. Her character, Hayley Vaughan, became very popular with fans, especially after she developed an off-screen romance with her on-screen boyfriend Mark Consuelos.
Ripa and Consuelos – who wed in 1996 – have three children.
