Reality TV made this spoiled heiress to the Hilton Hotel franchise a household name.
At the peak of her Simple Life success – Hilton starred in the series alongside frenemy Nicole Richie - a sex tape was released featuring the heiress and ex Rick Salomon.
Legal troubles began for Hilton when she was arrested in September 2006 on a DUI charge and sentenced to 36 months probation and had her license revoked.
In February 2007, she was pulled over for speeding and subsequently served a high-profile 23 day stint at California’s Lynnwood Correctional Facility.
The media darling’s love life has often been similarly tumultuous. Linked to actor Leonardo Di Caprio, Nick Carter and Greek shipping heirs Paris Latsis and Stavros Niarchos III, Hilton also dated Good Charlotte lead singer Benji Madden, the twin brother of Nicole Richie’s baby-daddy.
The socialite didn't stay single for long, ditching Madden for baseball player and Hills star Doug Reinhardt. The pair briefly called it quits in June 2009 before reuniting a month later.
