Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
Kidman and Cruise first met on the set of Days of Thunder in 1990, and later split in 2001 after 11 years of marriage, during which time they adopted daughter Bella and son Connor. The Aussie actress opened up about their time together in a rare piece penned for New York magazine. “I got married very young, but it definitely wasn’t power for me — it was protection,” she wrote in October 2018. “I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed. I would work, but I was still very much cocooned. So when I came out of [the marriage] at 32, 33, it’s almost like I had to grow up.”
Cruise went on to marry Katie Holmes in November 2006, seven months after their daughter, Suri, was born, but divorced in 2012. Meanwhile, Kidman married musician Keith Urban in June 2006 and the couple are parents of daughters Sunday and Faith.
